Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. David T. Batts officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home. Mildred Batcha Bogart Mildred Anna Batcha, 83, of 200 Crane Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998. A native of Donora, Pa., Mrs. Batcha was a life-long member of the Slovak Gymnastic Union Sokol, Dunellen, N.J. Mrs. Batcha donated her body to the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Athens, followed by a reception. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Letostak, Bogart, and Beverly Reed, Green Valley, Ariz.; three sisters, Cecilia Ayers, Dunellen, N.J., Helen Dennis, Harrison, Ark., and Betty Kuza, Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Milan Batcha, Toms River, N.J.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bremer, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Athens with Drs. William Britt, Tom Slater and Garnett Wilder officiating. Services will also be held in Tampa, Fla., at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, with the date and time to be announced later. Survivors include his wife, Joe Bremer; three daughters, Sheila Faye Mendonsa, Tyler, Texas, Maud Kathleen Connolly, Okinawa, Japan, and Jennifer Ada Bremer Dorangricchia, Buffalo, N.Y.; a son, August W. Fulmer, 80, of 96 Springdale Drive died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998. A native of Blakely, she was a daughter of the late Josiah Williams and Sarah Elizabeth Jernigan and the widow of Henry B. Fulmer. She had lived in Athens since 1952 and was retired from retail sales at Davidson's. She was a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Confederacy, and was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. today at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Luther Fouche officiating. Burial will be in Blakely. Survivors include her devoted neighbor and friend, Michael Joyce, Athens; a brother, Elvin B. Williams, Perry, Fla.; a niece, Catherine W. Christensen, Duluth; and four nephews, Dr. Scott M. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Ben Horne and Blondine Scarbrough. He was an electrician and spent most of his life in Athens. Mr. Horne was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Local Union 379 IBEW, Charlotte, N.C. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Elmer Butler officiating. Burial will be in Danielsville Memorial Park. Jordan of El Reno, Okla., and the late Rowena Jones Jordan. He was employed by ICEE of Atlanta Company for 14 years. He was an elder in the East Jonesboro congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Jordan; his stepmother, Mrs. Thomas B. Sallie Strickland Macon Sallie Strickland of 1123 Haywood Road died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998. A native of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Pleas and Sarah Starks. She was a niece of Addie S. Brantley of Athens. Mrs. Strickland was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, Macon, where she served on the usher board. She was a member of the Fort Hill Chapter 178, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as past worthy matron and grand associate matron for Joppa's Temple Grand Chapter. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Matthews Baptist Church, Macon. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Macon. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Survivors include three nieces, Johnnie M. Lily Tabor Athens Lily Tabor, 89, of 295 Parkway Drive died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998. A native of Marion County, she spent most of her life in Athens. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a master's degree in secondary education. She was a school teacher at Barrow Elementary School in Athens for 40 years. She was a member and past president of the Clarke County Teachers Association and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady Wigley officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Elberton.
