A native of Habersham County, Mrs. Barron was a daughter of the late Ernest and Susan Elder Bertschin and the widow of Troy Barron. She was retired from Trogdon Furniture Company, and was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church and the Rebecca Sunday school class. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa, with the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Luther (Ruby) Farmer, Toccoa, and Mrs. B.C. (Mary) Adams, Thomaston; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Stella Mooney, Carnesville, and Mrs. Wallace Bertschin, Toccoa; and several nieces and nephews. Herbert Calloway Athens Herbert Calloway, 85, of 200 Washington Drive died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. A native of Wilks County, Mr. Calloway was a son of the late Walter Calloway Sr. and Carrie Calloway. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Waymon officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Monday. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Edwards was a son of the late David Fletcher Edwards and Darlena Belle (McDuffie) Edwards. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannette Edwards. Mr. Edwards was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and Goldkist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Rogers Baptist Church. Alfred Franks Eastanollee Alfred Thomas Franks, 84, of Ridge Road, Toms Creek Community, died Friday, March 6, 1998. A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mr. Franks was a son of the late Thomas Bonner and Effie Gibson Franks. He was preceded in death by two sons, Herman Franks and Mikey Franks. He spent the greater part of his life in Stephens County. He was retired from the State Highway Department and was a member of Toms Creek Baptist Church. Patterson and Susie Newsome Patterson. She was an insurance clerk at Wills Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic with the University of Georgia and was a member of Carnesville Church of God.
