A native of Philadelphia, Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker. Funeral mass will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Wages Oak Lawn Chapel, Lawrenceville, with Father N. Brendan Doyle officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Devine, Winder; three sons, George Dunn and Danny Dunn, both of Lawrenceville, and David Dunn, Ringgold; a brother, Mickey Flynn, Philadelphia; and eight grandchildren. Troupe Harris Jr. Washington Troupe Mercer Harris Jr., 68, of 1269 Thomson Road died Wednesday, July 8, 1998. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Harris was a son of the late Troupe M. and Martha Jones Harris. He was director of music at Washington First Baptist Church, where he worked for more than 40 years, and a retired music educator, having taught private piano and voice students as well as public music. He studied music at Mars Hill Junior College, Mars Hill, N.C., and the University of Georgia, where he earned bachelor of fine arts and master of fine arts degrees. As a graduate student he won the Craig Barrow Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music on Campus. He attended Columbia Teachers College, New York City, for doctoral study. He was a member of the Music Teachers National Association, serving as an officer for six years including two years as national president. In 1986, he was named Wilkes County Citizen of the year by the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Washington First Baptist Church, where he directed the primary, junior, youth, senior and handbell choirs and various ensembles. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. Albert Huyck officiating. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Hill Harris; two sons, Troupe Mercer Harris III and David Irvin Harris, both of Washington; two sisters, Cornelia Johnson, Washington, and Blanche Dixon, Athens; and five grandchildren. Shakespeare Athens Maggie D. Shakespeare, 94, of 1678 Oak Grove Road died Tuesday, July 7, 1998. Mrs. Shakespeare was a retired fraternity house food preparer. She was a member of First African Episcopal Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vennie D. Simmons. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First African Episcopal Methodist Church with the Rev. George R. LaSure officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. A native of Woodruff, S.C., Mr. Tucker was a son of the late Swinton Bissell and Bertha Ray Tucker. He was an Army Paratrooper 82nd Airborne veteran of World War II.
