Wilson Road died Tuesday, April 7, 1998. A native of Richland, Mr. Hall was a son of Ann Bragg Hale Brown of King George, Va., and Bobby Hunter Hale of Plains. An Army veteran, he was a carpenter and an employee of the Atlanta Constitution. He was a member of Crossroads Church. Funeral services will be at noon today at Crossroads Church with the Revs. Morris Sapp and Chris Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Gordons Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Virginia Holmes Athens Virginia Holmes, 55, of 251 Lombardy Drive died Thursday, April 9, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Holmes was a daughter of George W. Holmes of Winder and the late Amanda Sikes Holmes. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Alfred Fowler, and a son, John Fowler. She was retired and a member of First Apostolic Church, Bishop. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, East, with the Rev. Curtis Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Hoyt Kirk Carnesville Hoyt Preston "Doody" Kirk, 81, of 16066 Georgia Highway 59 died Thursday, April 9, 1998. Mr. Kirk was a son of the late Bill and Mattie Ellenburg Kirk and widower of Pauline Canady Kirk. He was retired after 18 years as a school bus driver for the Franklin County school system, and also worked for Super Value Grocery Store from 1981-1993. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Indian Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Carson and Leon Carson officiating. Survivors include a son, Preston Kirk, Carnesville; a brother, Willie Kirk, Eastanollee; four grandchildren; six grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Lovern Bishop Granderson Field Lovern, 89, of 5141 High Shoals Road died Thursday, April 9, 1998. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Lovern was a son of Jefferson Davis and Mary Cornelius Smith Lovern and widower of Annie Laura Lovern. He was a farmer and a member of High Shoals Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home West, Bogart, with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Ray's Chapel Cemetery. Nina F. Phillips Jefferson Nina F. Phillips, 83, of Harold Phillips Road died Thursday, April 9, 1998. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of John and Rebecca Oliver Faulkner. She was a retired lab technician in the poultry industry and a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church, Pendergrass. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Harold D. Pearl Pure Athens Pearl Pure died Tuesday, April 7, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Pure was a daughter of the late William and Missie Bullock. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
