A native of Morgan County, Mrs. Autry was a daughter of the late Alonza and Rebecca Hester Armistead and widow of William Herbert Autry Sr. She was a housewife. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Simmons Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Russell Repetske officiating. Burial will be in Hillhaven Cemetery. Owen W. Chambers Tignall Owen W. Chambers, 94, of 8307 Elberton Road, formerly of Dahlonega, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mr. Chambers was a son of the late Hoyt and Goldie Threlkeld Chambers and widower of Thelma Glover Chambers. He was a longtime resident of Dahlonega, where he operated an automobile repair business. He was widely known as an auto and boat master mechanic throughout North Georgia. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Forest Hills Memorial Park with great-grandson, Greg Nix, officiating. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Nix, Cornelia, Shirley Sell, Tucker, and Linell Duncan, Milledgeville; a son, Thomas Chambers, Tignall; a sister, Mary Hilda Mathews, Lithia Springs; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. He served as a master sergeant in the Air Force during World War II, was a member of American Legion and Telephone Pioneers and chaplain of Athens Elks Lodge. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Dr. Peyton Teague Columbia, S.C. Dr. Peyton Clark Teague, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998. A native of Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Teague was a son of the late Robert Sterling and Sara Clark Teague. He received a B.S. degree from Auburn University, an M.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas. Dr. Teague was on the faculty at Auburn University, University of Georgia and University of Kentucky prior to coming to Columbia. He had been a professor of chemistry at the University of South Carolina since 1950 and was a visiting professor to University College, Dublin, Ireland (1963-64 and 1977). He was associate dean at USC Graduate School 1966-68. He received the Amoco Outstanding Teaching Award at USC in 1976 and was a Distinguished Professor Emeritus. He also served as secretary to the Graduate Admissions Committee from 1982 until the time of his death. He was a member of the Columbia Torch Club, Columbia Kiwanis Club, Forest Lake Club, American Chemical Society, PhytoChemical Society of North America (president 1969-70), S.C. Academy of Science and Town Theatre Board of Directors (1984-87). A member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Dr. Teague was a Chalice Bearer, Lay Reader and Vestryman (1968-71). Funeral services will be at noon today at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral with inurnment in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lamb Teague; a daughter, Norah Teague Grimball, Columbia; and three grandchildren, Patricia Lamb Grimball, John Grimball II and Norah Teague Grimball.
