Allen Sr. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Dianne Hamby. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Juanita Scruton officiating. Survivors include five daughters, Jerri Bryant, Hull, Laura Mae Wood, Arnoldsville, Betty Ann Wood, Danielsville, Frances Herbert, Hartsville, S.C., and Peggy Fields, Florida; a son, Grady J. Allen Jr., Comer; two sisters, Thelma Bowman and Irene Brackett, both of Mooresville; two brothers, Arnie Sansbury, Hiawassee, and Robert Sansbury, Florida; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Cornelia Brawner Homer Cornelia Jarrells Brawner, 84, of Christmas Tree Road died Thursday, June 4, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Brawner was a daughter of the late George and Ella Jarrells and was the widow of the Rev. Preston Brawner. She was a member of King Branch Baptist Church, Carnesville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at King Branch Baptist Church with the Revs. James Ramey and William Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include nine children, Clarance, Madison, Lou, Willie and Theodore, all of Atlanta, James, Gaither, Barbara and Florence, all of Detroit, and Louise, Milwaukee, Wis.; and two grandchildren raised in the home, Carmella, Homer, and Ira, Kansas. Tate Brookins Athens Tate Anderson Brookins, 27, of 1767 Cedar Shoals Drive died Monday, June 8, 1998. A native of Columbus, Mr. Brookins was a son of Ann R. Brookins of Athens and the late W. Frank Brookins. He was preceded in death by two grandparents, W. Frank Brookins and Grace G. Roddenbery. He was a graduate of Cedar Shoals High School, where he was on the soccer and track teams, and of the University of Georgia, where he earned a B.S. degree in agricultural economics, was a UGA football photography assistant manager and a member of UGA Ag Club. He was employed with Sports Events Inc. and Brookins Properties, and was a member of First Baptist Church. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Denny was a daughter of the late Ostin M. and Lucy Adams Mewborn and was the widow of Hubert Denny. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a son. She was a graduate of Mercer Academy, Bowman, a homemaker and a member of Cherokee Garden Club and Elberton First United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member of the Altar Guild, the Lena Childs Sunday school class and taught Sunday school for a number of years. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired after 13 years as a maintenance employee of Athens Regional Medical Center.
