Visitation begins at 10 a.m. today at Watts Funeral Home, Union Point. George P. Bell Jr. Greenville, S.C. George Pierce Bell Jr., 68, of 205 Heatherbrook Road, died Monday, March 9, 1998. A native of Maxeys, Mr. Bell was a son of the late Emmie Dobbins and George P. Bell Sr. He was a retired distribution manager at W.R. Grace, Cryovac Division, a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Agape Sunday school class, a member and past president of the South Carolina Trucking Association and past president of the Colonel Robert Anderson Chapter of the SAR in Greenville. He had served as regional vice president of National Industrial Traffic League, president of Atlanta and Piedmont Traffic Club, past president of Southern Traffic League, a member of NASTRAC and co-founder of Southeastern Motor Trucking Association. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Randolph Kowalski officiating. Entombment will be in Remembrance Mausoleum, Woodlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Rice Bell; two daughters, Suzanne McQueen, Travelers Rest, S.C., and Carolyn Taylor, Simpsonville, S.C.; two sons, Dan Pierce Bell, Columbia, S.C., and Hugh Anthony Bell, Heidelberg, Germany; a sister, Ruth Peterman, Decatur; and six grandsons. A native of Clarke County, Miss Bradley was a daughter of the late Abner W. and Neila Prather Bradley. She was a textile worker and a member of Oconee Street Methodist Church. Bridges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Charlie J. Burroughs Comer Charlie J. Burroughs, 78, of 115 Willow St., died Sunday, March 8, 1998. A native of Comer, Mr. Burroughs was a born Aug. 14, 1919, a son of the late Charlie B. and Tillie Nash Burroughs of Paoli and widower of Loretta Sklar Burroughs. He was preceded in death by two sons, James M. Burroughs and Richard A. Burroughs. He was retired from the Army with 20 years of service and also was retired from Westinghouse with almost 20 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and received many commendations, including Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Meritorious Plaque, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park with full military honors. A native of Lynchburg, Va., Mrs. Wheeler was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Gertrude Eleanor Louderback Arnall and widow of Grady Otto Wheeler. She was preceded in death by a son, James William Wheeler. Following her retirement after 20 years as a cashier at Sears Roebuck Columbia Mall, Decatur, she owned and operated The Gift House for almost 10 years. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, a former Sunday school teacher at Columbia Drive Baptist Church, Decatur, and was a charter member of Northeast Georgia Rose Society.
