A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mr. Burns was a son of the late Thomas Wayne and Bessie Nix Burns. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was an active deacon and former Sunday School superintendent. He was retired after 39 years with WABCO. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church with Clarence Davis and the Rev. Dennis Petty officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Tressie Honea Burns; three daughters, Betty B. Ashley, Houston, Lynn B. Jewell, Toccoa, and Terry B. Massey, Colbert; two sons, Elvin W. Burns, Eastanollee, and Dudley P. Burns, Toccoa; three sisters, Eunice Black, Dacula, Sara Burns, Seneca, S.C., and Linda Lagroone, Greenwood, S.C.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at Whitlock Mortuary. Pinkie Cox Toccoa Pinkie Lou Moseley Cox, 90, of East Silver Shoals Road died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Cox was a daughter of the late Richard Dempsey "Dick" and Sarah Ellen Lankford Moseley and was the widow of Jesse Lee Cox. She was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and the adult ladies Sunday school class and retired after 40 years with Duncan Mills. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Clarence Davis and the Revs. Leon Miller and David Mitchell officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Moseley Boothe, Huntsville, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Sarah Neal Moseley, Toccoa; and nieces and nephews. The family members are at their respective homes. Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late Datry and Amanda Hubbard Long and was the widow of John D. Harris. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the deaconess and mother boards. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Revs. Lawyer Fortson, Charles Brawner and Quincy Fortson Glaze officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Carlton. She was a public school teacher for 26 years and a member of Morningview Baptist Church. Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Leak Memory Chapel with the Revs. Greg Belser and Jim McFarland officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Athens. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and retired after 35 years with Wright Manufacturing Co. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Whitlock Mortuary with the Revs. Larry King and Jack Sosby officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Morgan Gregory, Toccoa; a son, Gene T. Morgan, Lilburn; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Broad St., Bowman Village, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Sain was a daughter of the late John H. and Mary Frances Bell Shirreffs. She was retired from Elberton Mill and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Elm Hearst Cemetery, Elberton, with Herbert Chisenhall and the Rev. Stan Hamilton officiating. Survivors include her husband, Arthur Sain Sr.; two daughters, Joann Jordon, Elberton, and Linda Fain, Conyers; a son, James Arthur Sain Jr., Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Su zanne Cooley, Temple, Peggy Lynn West, Charleston, S.C., and Jean Spangenberg, Cherokee, N.C.; three brothers, John F. Beulah Stanley Alto Beulah Wade Stanley, 85, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Stanley was a daughter of the late Mack and Frances Dell Wade and was the widow of J.C. Stanley. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Sanford Kimbrell, Ross Palmer and Billy Autry officiating. Burial will be in the Wade Family Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Free and Janell Thompson, both of Lula, and Susie Holland, Alto; two sons, George Meeks, Cornelia, and Donald Stanley, Jefferson; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Laurence H. Walker Athens Laurence H. Walker, 91, of 310 Parkway Drive died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998. A native of Weston, Vt., Mr. Walker was a son of the late Martha and Henry Issac Walker. He received a B.S. degree from American International University, Springfield, Mass., a master's degree from the University of Vermont, Burlington, and further graduate studies at George Washington University. He taught for many years in Vermont and Maryland, including nine years at Charlotte Hall Military Academy, Charlotte Hall, Md. In 1946 he joined the business school faculty at the University of Georgia, teaching in areas of marketing and advertising. He was director of the Gainesville Off-Campus Center and chief administrative assistant for the UGA General Extension Service, which was absorbed into the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and where he coordinated conferences until retiring 1975. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, where he served as its first Sunday school superintendent. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James UMC with the Revs. Kent Reynolds and Grady Wigley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Weston, Vt. A second service will be Sept. 25 at Old Parish Church, Weston, Vt. Survivors include his wife, Rue B. Walker; five sons, Jeb Bradberry, Athens, Bart Bradberry, Dacula, Tommy Bradberry, Newberry, S.C., Brad Bradberry, Denver, Colo., and Robert Nicholson, Winter Park, Fla.; a twin sister, Gladys Walker, Weston, Vt.; a brother, Kenneth Walker, Weston, Vt.; 15 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
