Andrews Lavonia Gartrell William Andrews, 75, of 925 Grady School Road, died Wednesday Dec. 9, 1998. Mr. Andrews was a son of the late W.C. and Vira Margaret Elrod Andrews, and was married twice, first to the late Margaret Seagraves Andrews and second to Edna Turpin Loggins. He was a retired truck driver and was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a Prisoner of War. He was a member of Commerce Lodge 294 Foreign & American Wars and a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 5897. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Commerce. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Little-Ward Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park. Survivors in addition to his wife, include; two daughters, Janis Hart, Montgomery, Ala., and Carole McFarlin, Toccoa; a son, Tommy Andrews, Carnesville; a sister, Gladys Marchman, Lavonia; two brothers, Gavin Andrews, Anderson, S.C., and Hoyt Andrews, Lavonia; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Hart, Terry McFarlin, Jason Hart, Patrick Hart, Shayne McFarlin and David Marshburn. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Fred L. Gartrell Washington Fred Lee Gartrell, 60, of 123 Rutledge St., died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Gartrell was a son of the late David Crawford and Annie Anderson. He was a logger and was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mulberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Survivors include five sisters, Essie Cofer, Washington, Mae Lou Hawes, Lincolnton, Mary A. Hawes and Thelma Jenkins, both of Augusta, and Catheline Jenkins, New York; and five brothers, Uriah Gartrell, the Rev. R.L. Crawford, and David L. Crawford, all of Washington, Thomas Crawford, Augusta, and John Henry Crawford, New York. The family will be at the residence. McLendon Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lavinia E. Harrison Colbert Lavinia Emily Harrison, 85, of 410 Mitchell Farm Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998. A native of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Harrison was a daughter of the late Lemuel B. and Lula Hubbell Miller and the widow of M.J. Harrison. He was a retired United States Navy civil serviceman, Warner Robins Air Force Base, and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Crescent City, Fla. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Carol G. Marlow, Colbert; two grand-daughters, Shirley Griffith, Centerville, and Priscilla Morgan, Warner Robins; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A native of Walton County, Mr. O'Kelley was a son of the late John M. O'Kelley and Mattie Towns O'Kelley. He was an operator of Lenox Cleaners, Atlanta, and was manager and former owner of Fambrough's Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Monroe. He was a member of Monroe First Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Monroe First Baptist Church with the Revs. Glen H. Money and Craig Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Powell Woodvill James "Red" Nelson Powell, 75, of 1261 Dogwood Road South, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Powell was a son of the late James A. Powell and Thelma Harper Powell. He was a retired self-employed produce salesman and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. Mamie Sue Pruitt Carnesville Mamie Sue Keesee Pruitt, 80, of 14333 Old Federal Road, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Pruitt was a daughter of the late Jim and Grace Gailey Keesee and a widow of Ralph William Pruitt. She was a retired seamstress and was a former employee for Georgia Sportswear. He was a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Nails Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
