A native of Yazoo City, Miss., Mr. Allgood was a son of the late June C. Allgood and Annie Pearle Durham Allgood. Mr. Allgood was a retired farmer and salesman for Bicknell Granite Supplies. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Seabees, and was a member of the Elberton VFW. He was a member of the Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25 and the Yaarab Shrine Temple. Mr. Allgood was a member of Eliam United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, with the Rev. Merry Porter officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Elberton. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Rose Coogler Allgood; two sons, John Starke Allgood Jr., Woonbine, Md., and Thomas Wickliffe Allgood, Elberton; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Randy Parham, Mike Baston, Ben Smith, Tom McCall, Rusty Adams and Galen Mills. Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Eliam United Methodist Church. The family is at the residence. Mary Cooper Dublin Mary B. Cooper, 82, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998. A native of Dublin, Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of the late Pearl and Della Bell Oneal and the widow of Herman Cooper. She was a member of Mount Tilla Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk, Sunday school teacher, director of vacation Bible school, Deaconess and on the missionary boards. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Tilla Baptist Church, Wilkinson, with the Rev. Willie T. Strange Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn C. Pittman, Wayne, N.J.; a son, the Rev. Roger E. Cooper, Jefferson; a brother, Charles L. Bell, Dublin; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence and at Dudley Funeral Home, Dublin, 7-8 p.m. Monday. Paul Lowery Toccoa Paul Robertson Lowery, 52, of 101 Abbey Lane died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998. A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Mr. Lowery lived in Toccoa for most of his life. He was a son of Nancy Robertson Lowery of Toccoa and the late Jesse Monroe Lowery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was an active member of the Georgia National Guard and a member of VFW Post #4346. Mr. Lowery was employed by Patterson Pump in Toccoa for some 28 years and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, with the Revs. Harlon Noles and Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with military honors accorded by VFW Post #4346. "Buck" Marlowe, 87, of Athens Street died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Marlowe was a son of the late Delone Marlow and Woodie Brown Marlow. He was the retired owner and operator of Marlowe Restaurant in Jefferson. He was a past member of the Jefferson Rotary Club and a member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Jefferson, with the Rev. Mickey Kirkindoll and Fred Gurley officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery. A native of Jasper County, he was a son of Marguerite Blizzard Morgan of Monticello and the late Clyde Hulon Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a partner in the Southern Equity Services Real Estate Development and Management Co. He was a member of Athens First United Methodist Church. A private memorial service for family members will be held today at the chapel of the Monticello First United Methodist Church.
