A native of Banks County, Mr. Bruce was a son of the late Robert Redmon and Ida Kesingdine Pitts Bruce. He was retired after 15 years service as a school bus driver with the Banks County Board of Education. He attended Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. He was retired from the Royston Police Department as a radio dispatcher, a member of the Georgia Peace Officer's Association, a Marine Corps veteran having received the National Defense Service Metal and of the Baptist faith. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Hewell was a son of Marjorie Hansford Hewell of Watkinsville and the late Fred C. Hewell. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hansford Sr. of Watkinsville, and Mrs. Mary Willie Hewell of Arnoldsville. A farmer in Oglethorpe County most of his life, he was owner and operator of Hewell Chevron Standard Station for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and attended the Mount Pleasant Meeting House. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Meeting House with the Rev. John Verschuren officiating. Lamon Macon Gwynneth E. Lamon, 72, of 1884 Twin Pines Drive died Tuesday, July 7, 1998. A native of Johnstown, Penn., Mrs. Lamon was a daughter of the late Robert Ellis and Marguerite Bailey Evans and was the widow of Homer Neill Lamon. She was a 1946 graduate of Oberlin College and received her master's degree from Georgia College and State University. She was employed by the Bibb County Board of Education and taught at Miller, Mark Smith and Northeast High Schools. She served as treasurer of the American Association of University Women, was past president of Delta Kappa Gamma and was a partner of Women on Wall Street Investment Club. A native of Hart County, Miss Meredith was a daughter of the late William and Minnie Burriss Meredith. She was a retired missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention in Columbia, South America, for many years. A missionary group was named in her honor at Hartwell Baptist Church, where she was a former member. She was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Atlanta.
