A native of Hart County, Mr. Baker was a son of the late Tillman and Beatrice Wright Baker. He was a farmer, a retired school bus driver for the Hart County School System, a member of Nancy Hart Masonic Lodger No. 690 and Reed Creek Baptist Church, and an Army veteran of World War II. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Reed Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Ted Kelley and Luther Kay officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Cecile Weldon Baker; a daughter, Teresa Sanders, Hartwell; three sons, Ronald Baker, Royston, and Perry Baker and David Baker, both of Hartwell; a sister, Gladys Thrasher, Hartwell; and eight grandchildren. Beulah Mae Bramblett Demorest Beulah Mae Churchwell Bramblett, 81, of Chestnut Ave. died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Mrs. Bramblett was a daughter of the late Amos and Sally Churchwell and was married to the late William "Bill" Bramblett. She was a homemaker and attended Cornelia Church of God and the Bible Landmark Church of Cornelia. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Cornelia Church of God with the Revs. Wilmer Ivester, Curtis Woods and Milton Martin Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. Survivors include four daughters, Betty Allen and Hellon Skelton, both of Cornelia, Carolyn Hogan, Chatsworth, and Barbara Smith, Clarkesville; a son, Wesley Bramblett, Demorest; a sister, Frances Grafton, Demorest; a brother, Grover Churchwell, Gainesville; and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. James Edward Hubbard Nicholson James Edward Hubbard, 54, of 318 Mulberry St. died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mr. Hubbard was a son of O.D. Hubbard and the late Ruby Irene 'Dills' Hubbard and was married to the late Sandra Hubbard. He was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Kettle was a son of the late Charles Henry Sr. and Jewette Smith Kettle, was married to the late Edna Pearl Chambers Kettle, and was preceded in death by a son, William Joel Kettle. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, was retired from the heating and air conditioning business, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 10. He was an automobile salesman, an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict where he received two bronze stars and was of the Baptist faith. "Buck" Smith, Winder; and a granddaughter, Michelle Perry, Atlanta. William Steedman Jr. Athens William Bancroft Steedman Jr. of 335 Fortson Drive died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998. A native of Athens, Mr. Steedman was a son of the late William B. Steedman Sr. and Billie Arthur Steedman. Mr. Steedman was a graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology where he was a member of Chi Psi Fraternity. He was a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy during World War II. Retired from the University of Georgia, Mr. Steedman was the owner of Wm. B. Steedman & Son. He was a charter member of the Athens Country Club and the Athens City Club. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Mr. Steedman was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Cox Steedman, and survivors include his three sons, William Bancroft Steedman III of Atlanta, and John Cox Steedman and Arthur Hutchinson Steedman, both of Athens, and a sister, Martha Steedman Grainger of Pinehurst, N.C., and four grandchildren, Arthur Steedman Jr., Kelley Steedman, Ann Cox Steedman and Tayloe Steedman, all of Athens.
