A native of Floyd County, Mr. Lary was a son of the late Alfred Lary and Violla Kelly. There will be no funeral services. Survivors include two brothers, Edgar Lary and David Lary, both of Rome; his care-givers, James and Cletta Arnold of Carlton; and nieces and nephews. Cave Spring Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Cave Spring, is in charge of arrangements. Robbie Brooks Vera Beach, Fla. Robbie Broome Brooks, 73, died Friday, July 10, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Brooks was a daughter of the late Robert Tombs and Susan Ethel Addison Broome. She was the widow of Dr. Troy Luther Brooks. She graduated from Madison County High School, Danielsville, and earned her A.B. degree in education from the University of Georgia. She was a teacher of English and reading in the public schools of Georgia and for 25 years in Auburndale, Fla. She was a supporter of the Boy Scouts and school sports. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Vera Beach, Fla., where she was active in various church programs. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Mike Hudman and Perry Ginn officiating. Burial will be in the Danielsville City Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Jackson Ross Brooks, Gainesville, and James Robert Brooks, Vera Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Jimmie Lou B. Benton, Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., Willie Ruth B. Freeman, Lincolnton, and Charlene B. Strickland, Danielsville; and a niece and nephew. Pallbearers will be Randall Brooks, David James, Andy Brooks, Grady Brooks, Tommy Waters, and Jimmie Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Madison County High School graduating class of 1941. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Jim D. Golden Cornelia Jim Dorsey Golden, 80, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Golden was a son of the late Grover and Florence Smith Golden. He was a Army veteran of World War II and retired from Chicopee Manufacturing Co. after 35 years of service. He was a member of Cornelia Lodge No. 92, F&AM, Grant Reeves Post No. 7720, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Level Grove Baptist Church, and the Men's Adult No. 2 Sunday school class. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the VFW Memorial Park with military honors provided by Grant Reeves Post No. 7720, VFW. Survivors include his wife, Grace Snyder Golden; and three sisters, Marie Housworth, Decatur, Jane Miller and Lottie Lou Adams, both of Cornelia. Nell Howell Hartwell Nell Maude Shiflet Howell, 75, of 691 North Forest Ave. died Saturday, July 11, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Howell was a daughter of the late Dortch M. and Maude Gurley Shiflet. She was preceded in death by a son, Marty Howell. She was retired from the Hartwell Co. as a supervisor and was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, the Live Wire Sunday school class, and the Mae Lily McCurry Circle. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hartwell First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jan Devreaux and Todd Triplett officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Robert M. Howell; a daughter, Connie Thrift, Hartwell; she was the guardian of Tommy Reid and Sidney Reid, both of Bowersville, Sonny Reid, Hartwell, and Sylvia Reid, Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Coleman Shiflet, Ninety Six, S.C.; and two grandchildren. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. McCollum was a daughter of the late James and Ida Mae Boswell Ashworth. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Garden, South. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Roscoe McCollum; a daughter, Georgia C. Walters, Auburn; two sons, Onnie Lee McCollum, Bowman, and Thomas Franklin McCollum, Clinton, S.C.; a brother, Walter A. Survivors include two daughters, Lisia Anderson and Teresa Towns, both of Rayle; three sons, Greg Smith, Atlanta, Demond Towns, Calif., and Melvin Towns, Rayle; three sisters, Dorothy Chandler and Rosa Mae Cox, both of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sarah Mitchell, Fla.; and a grandchild. A native of Barrow County, Mrs. Tuggle was a daughter of the late John and Cora Parker Helton. She was married to the late Blonda Tuggle. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Tabernacle, Lilburn. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. James Owens officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Tucker. Survivors include a son, Harold E. Tuggle, Bethlehem; a sister, Lucille Bradley Grizzle, Auburn; a brother, Clyde Helton, Lawrenceville; and six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
