Allen Albany Helen Isabel Allen, 77, of 2424 Whispering Pines Circle, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998. A native of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Mrs. Allen had lived in Albany since 1953. She was a legal secretary, a dedicated military wife, homemaker and outstanding mother of three. She attended the Marine Base Chapel and was a member of the Gold Star Wives. She was a widow of Harry Chester Allen. Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Marine Base Chapel with Chaplain Christopher Bennett officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Allen Keller, Dallas; two sons, Frank R. Allen, Athens, and Commander Douglas J. Allen, Pretoria, South Africa; three brothers, Gordon Butler and Howard Butler, both of St. Johns, Newfoundland, and James Butler, Ottowa, Canada; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at Hall & Hall Funeral Home. James Ted Beck Statham James Ted Beck, 62, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998. Mr. Beck was a son of the late John Clyde and Annie Ruth Clark Beck. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. William J. Beshears officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. A native of Walton County and formerly of Decatur, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of the late William Henry and Irene Stevens Wood, and widow of William L. Bennett. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a charter member of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a life member of the National Education Association, Georgia Retired Teachers Association, Decatur-Dekalb Unit of Retired Teachers Association, Honorary Life Member of National Congress of Parents and Teachers, and Loganville Christian Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, West. Burial will be in Corinth Christian Church cemetery, Loganville. Survivors include a daughter, Gail Lester, Athens; a sister, Dorothy Wood Garrett, Loganville; a brother, James L. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Crowe was a son of the late Lillie Ruth Malcolm and Luther Columbus Crowe. He was retired from Chicopee, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, after 35 years of service. He was at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Mars Hill Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Revs. Kenneth Glenn and William Tribble will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a daughter of the late Tom Culbertson and Lettie Jane Fitzpatrick Culbertson and widow of Ollie Fitzpatrick. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Services were Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Dennis Keesler and Douglas Duncan officiating. Burial was in Ila cemetery. Neal Ford Statham Neal Ford, 28, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998. Mr. Ford was a son of Glenda Ford of Mansfield and the late Morris Ford. He was a farmer for Bernard Garrett. A native of Madison, Mr. Richardson was a son of Runa White Richardson and the late Horace Eston Richardson Sr. He was the store manager of Sky City Variety Store, Pelzer, S.C., and attended Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was an Army veteran, a member of D.A.V. and the South Carolina Beekeepers Association, and a lifetime member of the NRA. A native of Aberdeen, N.C., Mrs. Smith was a daughter of Lois Collins of Aberdeen, N.C., and a wife and homemaker of 45 years. She was a member of the United Church of God, Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Rev. Richard Thompson. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, James L. Marjorie Thomas Toccoa Marjorie Thomas, 94, of The Clary Care Center, Toccoa, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, in Stephens County Hospital. A native of Toccoa, Miss Thomas was a daughter of the late Paul D. and Rosa Franklin Thomas and the last member of her immediate family.. She became the first woman elected to public office in Stephens County, when she was elected tax commissioner to fill the unexpired term of her father. She later worked as an assistant in the tax commissioner's office for about 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Toccoa, the White Wheeler Circle, the Friendship Club, the United Methodist Women and the Stephens County Hospital Auxiliary. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Bob Partridge and Jack Lamb officiating. Interment will be in Toccoa City cemetery.
