Hubbard Nicholson James Edward Hubbard, 54, of 318 Mulberry St., died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mr. Hubbard was a son of O.D. Hubbard and the late Ruby Irene Dills Hubbard and widower of Sandra Hubbard. He was a retired carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Curtis Green officiating. Burial was in Howington Cemetery, Nicholson. Survivors, in addition to his father, include a daughter, Cheryl Walker, Nicholson; three sons, Jamie Lee Hubbard, Nicholson, Donnie William Johnston, Commerce, and Jimmy Johnston, Atlanta; two brothers, Elmer Hubbard of Detroit, and O.D. Hubbard Jr., Maysville; and five grandchildren. Richard A. Maxwell Washington Richard Alexander Maxwell, 78, of 556 Oscar Thornton Road, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Maxwell was a son of the late William Thomas and Fannie Beck Smith Maxwell widower of Helen Thornton Maxwell and Mary Lou Davis Maxwell. He was a machinist and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the Revs. George Hollis, Chester Hall and Dale Fincher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include three sons, Richard T. Maxwell, Washington, William J. Morrison, Winterville, and Lee Morrison, Martinez; three daughters, Phyllis Norman, Lincolnton, Faye Lamar, Tignall, and Norma Reed, Martinez; one brother, W.W. "Bill" Maxwell; three sisters, Louise Kelley, Tifton, Kathleen Kennedy, Greenville, S.C., and Ibby Smith, Ellenwood; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church, Washington, Ga. 30673. The family is at the residence of Phyllis Norman, 3481 Metasville Road, and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home. Annie B. Roberts Royston Annie Belle Carey Roberts, 83, of Brown Memorial Convalescent Center, formerly of Franklin Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Roberts was a daughter of the late Johnnie and Onnie Cromer Carey and widow of W.T. Roberts. She was a homemaker and was retired from the Oxford Manufacturing Co., Royston. She was a member of Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Pruitt Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Bert Synan, Tommy Dubose and Tony Moon officiating. Burial will be in the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery. Survivors include a son, James Roberts, Royston; two daughters, Marie Andrews, Toccoa, and Mary Pringle, Riverdale; one brother, J.C. Carey, Canon; two sisters, Olis Browner, Carnesville, and Lettie Smith, Columbia, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Brooks, Danny Langston, Edward Brawner, Marshall Brawner, Wayne Langston, Lindy Brawner and Steve Vollrath. Susie Seagraves Commerce Susie Adams Seagraves, 79, of 203 Erastus Church Road, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Seagraves was a daughter of the late Obediah and Estelle Pittman Adams. She was a homemaker and was a member of Erastus Christian Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Erastus Christian Church with Jim Jacobs and the Rev. Robert Passmore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Otis Seagraves; one daughter, Gloria Purcell, Commerce; two brothers, Paul Adams and Lee Adams, both of Commerce; one sister, Lucille Smith, Nicholson; a granddaughter, Donna Embrick, Commerce; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Embrick, Commerce.
