A native of Gilmer County, Mrs. Byers was a daughter of the late Bill and Ollie Taylor Whitener and was married to the late Bryce Byers. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Carter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Leila Gaddis, Cumming, and Louise Goodman, Tucker; and three nephews and four nieces. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Tracy B. Emmert Montgomery, Ala. Tracy B. Emmert, 42, of 900 Bell St. died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. A native of New York, Mr. Emmert was a son of Lois Mitchem Griffin of Athens and the late William Emmert. He was a computer operator and a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his brother, Michael Emmert, Havelock, N.C.; and stepfather, Jim Griffin, Athens. B.D. Hall Winder B.D. Hall, 78, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. Mr. Hall was a son of the late B.D. and Leila Williams Hall. He attended Pentecost United Methodist Church and was a retired bus driver with Trailways Bus Line. Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Pentecost United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lisa Caine officiating. Eugene LeRoy Heric Athens Eugene LeRoy Heric of 189 Catawba Ave. died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998. A native of Bellingham, Wash., Mr. Heric was a son of the late Joseph and Bernice Proppe Heric. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as a medic, and a retired chemistry professor, having served the University of Georgia for 35 years. No services will be held. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Riemann Heric; two daughters, Elizabeth H. Oliver, Baton Rouge, La., and Martha Heric, Urbanna, Va.; a son, Matthew Heric, Durham, N.C.; and six grandchildren. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Power was a son of the late Levis and Beulah Whitfield Power. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as a military policeman.
