Mr. Brown was a son of the late Reford and Lavertis Griffeth Brown. He was retired from the National Guard and Rohr Aircraft and was a member of Bethlehem First Baptist Church and Barrow County Airport Authority. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bethlehem First Baptist Church with the Revs. E. Ray Frazier, Jody Hice and Donnie Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include his wife, Claire McElroy Brown; a son, Michael D. Brown, Bethlehem; a brother, Larry Brown, Bethlehem; three nieces, two nephews and two great-nephews. Omer V. Cape Hartwell Omer V. Cape, 68, of 15 Cedar St. died Monday, May 11, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Cape was a son of the late Ezra and Evie Brawner Cape. He was a retired manager of Winn Dixie in Hartwell and a member of the gospel singing group "The Old Time Sounds of Praise" and Gethsemane Baptist Temple, Starr, S.C. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gethsemane Baptist Temple with the Revs. Sam Duncan, Barney Williams and Gary Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Ginn was a son of the late Hamilton Franklin and Dovie Lou Adams Ginn and the widower of Mae Jordan Ginn. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yetta "Barbara" Wilson, and a grandson, Greg McCurley. He was retired from the University of Georgia maintenance department and a member of Central Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Revs. Don Fuller and Brenda Clark officiating. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Jackson was a son of the late Vanus "Sam" and Ella Mae Rogers Jackson. He was a retired landscaper and of the Baptist faith. A native of Walton County, Mr. McGaughey was a son of the late Rev. Toombs and Emma Tillman McGaughey. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he was an outstanding baseball player. He recently was elected to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. He was owner of Reeder and McGaughey Sporting Goods stores throughout Atlanta for more than 50 years. He was a deacon of Bethel Baptist Church, Good Hope. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Bevel Jones and the Rev. W.T. Booth officiating.
