Blackshear Mount Holly, N.C. Charles E. Blackshear, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. Mr. Blackshear was a son of the late Rufus and Martha Brooks Blackshear. He was a former proprietor of Chasco's Bait and Tackle, a member of the Air National Guard and of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McGahee-Griffin Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Neil King and Derrick Blackshear officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn King Blackshear; two sons, Rockne C. Blackshear, Charlotte, N.C., and Bret W. Blackshear, Belmont, N.C.; and two brothers, D. Wendell Blackshear, Birmingham, Ala., and J. Paul Blackshear, Citrus Springs, Fla. The family is at the home of the Rev. Neil King, Neil King Road. Ray Cox Winder Ray Cox, 66, of 240 W. Oak St., Apt. B, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. A native of Gadsden, Ala., Mr. Cox was a son of the late Ted and Ruth Simmons Cox. He was a member of Midway Christian Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Kenneth H. Leach and Bill Baker officiating. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Cox; a stepdaughter, Charity L. Ruark, Morgan County; and a stepson, John J. Walling, Winder. The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home. Woodrow Huff Washington Woodrow Wilson Huff, 85, of 805 Cloverhurst Drive died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Huff was a son of the late James Richard and Mable Lyle Alford Huff. An Army veteran, he was a supervisor and mechanic at Almar Manufacturing Co. and a member of First Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Funeral Home with the Revs. Albert Huyck and Clifton Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Josie Hammock Huff; a daughter, Gail Huff Norman, Washington; a son, Richard Gary Huff, Atlanta; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Madison Huff, Thomas Fanning, Ralph Crawford, Tony Norman, Ronnie Cofer and Mitchell Hammock. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, the V.A. Hospice Center or the American Cancer Society. Carl Mulchi Jr. Alto Carl Lee Mulchi Jr., 39, of 874 Grant Mill Road died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998. A native of Vance County, Mr. Mulchi was a son of Alice Gupton Eads, Atlanta, and Carl Lee Mulchi, Clarksville. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Atlanta. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at J.M. White Funeral Home, Henderson, N.C., with the Rev. Russell Woodridge officiating. Burial will be in Lewis J. Gupton Memorial Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Joan Marie Vanwagner Mulchi; his step-mother, Lynn Mulchi, Clarksville; his stepfather, Tommy Eads, Atlanta; a brother, Claude Mulchi, Cadillac, Mich.; four half-sisters, Linda Satterfield and Sonja Whitlow, both of South Boston, Va., and Regina Mulchi and Terena Mulchi, both of Clarksville; and two half-brothers, Larry Elliott, South Boston, Va., and Charlie Mulchi, Clarksville. Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, is in charge of arrangements. Millard E. Noell Athens Millard E. Noell, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Noell was a son of the late Johnathan and Early Cunningham Noell. He was a member of West End Baptist Church and drove a school bus for more than 34 years and was Driver of the Year in 1976. He later became a security guard at a local bank and was a member of Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge 22. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Lee Hunter officiating. Survivors include two sons, Jerry E. Noell, Leeds, and Steve W. Noell, Athens; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bridges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sue Phillips Lexington Nannie Sue Phillips, 79, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998. A native of Royston, Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of the late Joe and Matt Ballenger and widow of Sam Jones Phillips Jr. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia. Entombment will be in Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Brown, Blythewood; four sons, Joe R. Phillips, Graham, N.C., James T. Phillips, Sanford, N.C., Robert W. "Bob" Phillips, Lexington, and Benjamin R. "Ben" Phillips, Gaston; three sisters, Naomi Ayers, Polly Bowers and Christine Correira, all of Royston; two brothers, John Ballenger, Elberton, and Nelson Ballenger, Royston; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Virginia Y. Trotter Watkinsville Dr. Virginia Y. Trotter, 76, of 41 Hickory Hill died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998. A native of Boise, Idaho, Dr. Trotter was a daughter of the late Rockford Glenn and Lena Topliff Yapp and widower of Robert T. Trotter. She was a retired academic administrator at the University of Georgia and a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Athens. She was UGA's first president for academic affairs, created the Office of Instructional Development, was the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education 1974-77, dean of the College of Home Economics and associate dean of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics, University of Nebraska. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Eddie Ard officiating. Survivors include a son, Robert T. Trotter II, Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Jo Ann Howells, Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; three brothers, Rockford Glenn Yapp Jr., Houston, Texas, George J. Yapp, Barrington Heights, Ill., and Robert C. Yapp, Des Moines, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
