A native of Abbeville County, S.C., Mr. Boyd was a son of the late Clifford and Thelma Dye Boyd. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired owner and operator of Boyd Granite Co. and a member of Elberton First United Methodist Church and Manning co-ed Sunday school class. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Elberton First UMC with the Revs. Wallace Wheeles and Jack Bozeman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Snelling Boyd; two sons, William C. "Hoppy" Boyd Jr. and James Richard "Jim" Boyd, both of Elberton; a sister, Wandaleen Hedquist, Jacksonville, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Dye, Allen Dye, Dr. Don Dye, Tom Evans, Chris Phelps and Jimmy Brown. Members of the Manning co-ed Sunday school class and employees of Boyd Granite Co. will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family is at the residence. Ollie Burnham Madison Ollie Burnham, 86, of 1321 Price Mill Road died Wednesday, May 13, 1998. A native of Morgan County, Mrs. Burnham was a daughter of the late Ellen Estes and Arthur R. Broach and the widow of Arthur L. Burnham. She was a retired clerk for Federated Insurance Co. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Simmons Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim Ross and Dew officiating. Burial will be in Hill & Dale Cemetery. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews including Mr. and Mrs. Hoyte Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Broach, all of Newborn, Dorothy Manning, Naples, Fla., and Mary Jane Martin, Sandy Springs; and several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Willie Eaton Elberton Willie Carlton Eaton, 82, of 30 Carey St. died Tuesday, May 12, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Eaton was a daughter of the late Keiffer and Emma Carlton and was the widow of William Buford Eaton. She was a homemaker and retired from Elberton Manufacturing with 32 years service. She was a member of Vans Creek Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Vaughn officiating. Survivors include a son, Jerry Eaton, Elberton; a brother, Keiffer Hewell Carlton, Elberton; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eaton, 1789 Ruckersville Circle, and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vans Creek Baptist Church or Meals on Wheels. Clarence Franklin Clarkesville Clarence Warren Franklin, 92, of Toccoa Highway died Tuesday, May 12, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Franklin was a son of the late Warren and Pauline Kinney Franklin. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Stroud. He was a retired farmer and plumber and a member of Clarkesville Lodge 325 F&AM and past Worshipful Master, and a member of Clarkesville United Methodist Church, where he was a past president of the men's Sunday school class and a member of the Administrative Board. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Rev. Terry Phillips and Blaine Walker officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Bach Franklin; two daughters, Vivian Schoonmaker, Demorest, and Phyllis Burns, Cornelia; a son, Robert L. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Horne was a son of Carolyn Patton Smith of Hull and the late Rufus Allen Horne Sr. He was employed with Southern Textiles and a 1986 graduate of Madison County High School. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Revs. David Perkins and Steve Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Danielsville Memorial gardens. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his stepfather, Jack Smith, Hull; a sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Steve Bryant, Watkinsville; and aunts and uncles. Margie Huey Athens Margie Lou Huey, 43, of McNutt Creek Drive died Sunday, March 15, 1998. A native of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Huey was a daughter of the late James L. and Violet Morris Clark. A registered nurse, she had worked at St. Mary's Hospital for many years and was most recently employed by the Walton County Medical Center in Monroe. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and received her nursing degree in 1984. She was an active American Red Cross volunteer and began the Disaster Exercise Visual Assistance Team to allow medical personnel to maintain proficiency in training. Funeral services were March 18 at Angwins Funeral Home, Birmingham. Burial was in Highland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Pruitt was a daughter of the late James and Lucy Allie Ervin Turk and was the widow of James Marion Pruitt. She was retired from Commerce Sportswear. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Hearn officiating. Burial will be in Apple Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Tolbert was a son of the late Odell Tolbert and Nell Nunn Crawford. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bobby Williamson. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Tolbert was retired from Harmony Grove Mill and a member of Commerce First Baptist Church. She was retired from Thomas Textiles and a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
