A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Denney was a daughter of the late Maggie Lee Webb Butler and William Newton Butler Sr. and was the widow of Walton Denney. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Conley, and a retired trucking company clerk. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, Conley, with the Revs. Jeff McBurnett, Guy Starrett and Paul Leslie officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Starrett, Hampton; a sister, Flora Dallas Ward, Elberton; six brothers, Haley Pope Butler, Dewy Rose, William Butler Jr., Marietta, and Raymond Butler, Frank Butler, Henry Butler and Copeland Butler, all of Elberton; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A native of Elbert County, Mr. McIntosh was a son of the late Roger and Hattie McIntosh and was the widower of Dazzie Lee Allen McIntosh. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lofton Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Strong officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Heights Cemetery. Survivors include eight grandchildren, James Carl Allen, Eunice Calhoun and Bennie Richard McIntosh, all of Elberton, Jeanesta McIntosh, Athens, and Willie J. McIntosh, John Edward McIntosh, Gregory Hayes McIntosh and Curtis Lee McIntosh, all of Cincinnati; a grandchild raised in the home, Willie J. McIntosh Jr., Athens; two sisters, Ozella Heard, Buffalo, N.Y., and Bernice Jones, Chattanooga, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence. McKinney-Neal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Ethel Wilkes Athens Ethel Rogers Wilkes, 90, of 801 Riverhill Drive died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998. A native of Union County, Mrs. Wilkes was a daughter of the late John O. and Polly L. Hooper Rogers and was the widow of Dewitt H. Wilkes. She was a member of Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church, retired after 20 years as an operator at the Georgia Center at the University of Georgia and a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Services will be at 2 p.m. in Gordon's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Mabry officiating. Survivors include a sister, Mary R. Lunsford, Dublin; two stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dupree Wilkes, 320 Championship Drive, and will receive friends 5-6 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home.
