A native of Elbert County, Mr. Guest was a son of the late Okadell and Audrey Shiflet Guest. He was a retired owner of Guest Granite Co. and was of the Baptist faith. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman, with the Rev. Waymon Dotson officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Katrina Lanette Collins, Barberton, Ohio; two sons, Ryan Guest, Williston, S.C. and Gary Guest, Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Becky Blackmon, Dearing, and Angela Readdy, Augusta; and four grandchildren. Higginbotham Cornelia Joe D. Higginbotham, 67, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Higginbotham was a son of the late James Lee and Fannie Dooley Higginbotham. He was retired after serving 40 years as an appliance serviceman. He was a graduate of Cornelia High School and the North Georgia Technical Institute. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Grant Reeves Post No. 7720, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Cornelia First Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cornelia First Baptist Church with the Revs. T. Logan Smith, Phil Smith and Mathilda Scroggs officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a retired teacher and retired from the United States Army Reserves.
