A native of White County, Mr. Callaway was a son of the late Jim and Ellie Helton Callaway and the widower of Mary Tucker Callaway. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Grove Chapel Holiness Church. Ed English Toccoa James Edward "Ed" English, 64, of 2315 Talmadge Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Mr. English was a son of Lola Estelle McClure English of Toccoa and the late Ira Isaac English. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Malinda Raxter. A Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, he owned, founded and operated Ed's Barbecue for 26 years and was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Mize and Ernest Ivester officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. She was retired after 20 years from Wrights Manufacturing Co. and was owner and operator of Standridge Grocery Store. She was a member of Tugalo Baptist Church and attended Oak Valley Church of God. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was a member of Broad River Baptist Church, the Ladies Sunday School Class and the Order of the Eastern Star.
