A native of Habersham County, Mr. Crocker was a son of the late Castalow "Doc" and Gladys Wade Crocker. He was preceded in death by a son, James David Crocker Jr. He was retired after 25 years from Fieldale Corporation. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Revs. Woodrow Hix and Leonard Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Wade Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Ayers Crocker; two sons, Randall Crocker, Easley, S.C., and Chad Crocker, Greer, S.C.; two stepsons, Todd Smith, Cleveland, and Craig Smith, Homer; three sisters, Patricia Gibson, South Georgia, Brenda Arrowood, Alto, and Denise Simmons, Homer; four brothers, Max Crocker and Dennis Crocker, both of Alto, Donald Crocker, Seneca, S.C., and Morgan Crocker, Mount Airy; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Blanche L. Day Bishop Blanche L. Day, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Day was a daughter of the late J.C. and Hattie Lovern Landrum. A retired seamstress, she was a member of High Shoals United Methodist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at High Shoals UMC with the Revs. Jimmy Kenney and Dr. Douglas Bower officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Mary Claire Hessinger, Bishop; a grandson, John Kelly Day, Houston, Texas; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville. Kate Dooley Toccoa Kate Stone Holbrooks Dooley, 92, of Falls Road died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Dooley was a daughter of the late Henry L. and Georgia Whitfield Stone. She was first married to the late Silas Holbrooks. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Whitlock Mortuary with James A. Weathersby, Charlie Pitts and the Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. Burial will be in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include five daughters, Gladys Finley, Westminster, S.C., Reba Murray and Jean Standridge, both of Toccoa, Sara Smith, Locust Grove, and Elizabeth Morris, Duluth; two sons, Marvin Holbrooks, Alapaha, and Henry Dooley, Toccoa; two sisters, Callie Stone and Polly Moore, both of Westminster, S.C.; 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Durden III, 57, of 405 Sandstone Drive died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Durden was a son of the late Phillip and Margaret McCannon Durden. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He attended the University of Georgia and was on the baseball team. He was the owner and operator of Durden Music Store until 1970 when he became a building contractor. Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 15, 1998, in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Ray Austin officiating. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Shook Durden; three sons, Phillip H. Durden IV and Robert James Durden, both of Athens, and Brian J. Durden, Watkinsville; a stepson, Shane Shook, Acworth; a brother, Stan Durden, Athens; and five grandchildren. The family will be at the residence. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. McCollum was a daughter of the late Squire Hansel and Mae Toney Russell and was the widow of Bill N. McCollumn. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Montgomery was the widow of Clarence R. "Gig" Montgomery. She was an employee of Emory University for 25 years. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Peachtree Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drs. W. Frank Harrington and Stephen M. Huntley officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke, Va. Survivors include a a son, David R. A native of Madison County, Mr. Morris was a son of the late Charles H. and Clyde Griffith Morris. An Army veteran of World War II, he was employed by DairyPak of Athens for 10 years and farmed at the family home. He was a member of the Colbert Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Colbert Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Colbert City Cemetery. Miriam Ray Athens Miriam Luther Ray, 77, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998. A native of Spalding County, Mrs. Ray was a daughter of the late Preston Young and Mae Adams Luther and was the widow of James Butler Ray Jr. She was a homemaker and retired owner and operator of Ray's Corner in Watkinsville. She was a member of St. James Methodist Church, participated in Circle Number 4 and was a member of Bobbin Mill Garden Club. She attended the University of Georgia, was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and served as the permanent alumna secretary until her retirement. Turner Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Pine Mountain, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Worley and Morgan Worley. She was a homemaker and a member of Belton Baptist Church.
