A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Cairnes was a daughter of the late Lon and Eunie Edwards Holcomb and was the widow of Wade W. Cairnes. She was preceded in death by a son, Lewis W. Cairnes. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mountain View Cemetery, Marietta, with the Rev. Don Parker officiating. Survivors include a son, Allen E. Cairnes, Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Coe Cairnes, San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Vesta Holcomb and Annis H. Herring, both of Athens; five grandchildren, Wade Cairnes, Dale Aurich, Taye Cairnes, Chris Cairnes and Jeffery Cairnes; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is at the home of Vesta Holcomb, 118 S. Stratford Drive, and will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Marietta, 148 Church St., Marietta, Ga. 30060-1630. Robert Coleman Athens Robert Coleman, 72, of 1594 E. Broad St. died Sunday, April 12, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Coleman was a son of the late James and Mary Coleman. Mr. Coleman was a retired teacher in the Clarke County school district and a retired Army first lieutenant. He was a graduate of AHIS and Tuskegee University, a member and deacon of Dorsey Tabernacle Baptist Church and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3910. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at East Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. James Kendricks officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Marineida Coleman; two sons, Robert Coleman Jr. and Stacey Coleman, both of Athens; three sisters, Sallie Mae Williams and Annie Ruth Poe, both of Detroit, and Louise Hill, Athens; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Hurley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rubye Franklin Athens Rubye Crowley Franklin, 78, of 175 Lakeview Road died Tuesday, April 14, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Franklin was a daughter of the late Andrew and Pearl Crowley and was the widow of Harmon Franklin. She was a retired administrative assistant of Southern Piedmont Research Center for 42 years and a member of First United Methodist Church and Athens Elk Aidmore Auxiliary. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bernstein Funeral Home with A.P. Barnett and the Rev. Grady Wigley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include a daughter, Anne Elaine Marable, Athens; a brother, Donald Crowley, Lawrenceville; two grandchildren, Melissa Wilder, Lawrenceville, and Wendy Elslander, Marietta; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Blue Wood, Ned Dawson, Andy Crowley, Billy Crowley, Monty Wilder and Chuck Elslander. John Mitchell and Rick Main will be honorary pallbearers. Sarah E. Russell Winder Sarah E. Russell, 85, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998. Mrs. Russell was a daughter of the late William Ober and Pauline Letson Eaton. She was a graduate of Emory School of Nursing, performing graduate work in pediatrics at the Washington, D.C., Children's Hospital. She worked as a nurse in Hall County Hospital, Barrow County Health Department, the Manufacturers' Health Clinic and Russell Nursing Home. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winder for many years and was part of a group that formed St. Anthony's Episcopal Church in 1966. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home with the Revs. Monty Nelson and Lloyd Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Russell Family Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Sally Russell Warrington, Warwick, England, Su san Russell Reynolds, Winder, and Nancy Russell Parker, Gainesville; three sons, Alex B. Russell Jr., Soldotna, Alaska, John D. Russell, Winder, and Bruce Russell, Clayton; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mattie Lee Sigers Baldwin Mattie Lee Stowe Sigers, 89, of Hannah Hills Lane died Wednesday, April 15, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Sigers was a daughter of the late Gordon Hudson and Hattie Mae Williams Stowe and was the widow of Aaron Knox Sigers Sr. She was retired after 15 years from Carwood Manufacturing Co. and was a member and Sunday school teacher of Baldwin Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Baldwin Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Barnes and Ronald Sigers officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery with the Rev. Pete Martin officiating. Survivors include four daughters, Maudene Underwood, Demorest, Grace Blackwell, Turnerville, and Mary Ann Herrin and Sue Davidson, both of Baldwin; two sons, Aaron Knox Sigers Jr., Miami, Fla., and Max Sigers, Palo Alto, Calif.; three brothers, Ellis Stowe, Panama City, Fla., Bruce Stowe, Alto, and Curtis Stowe, Cornelia; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Billy Watson Winder Billy Watson, 75, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Watson was a son of the late Talma Ruth Watson. He was a Mason and a Shriner and a member of Scottish Rite. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Tapp officiating. Walters Westminster, S.C. The Rev. Bennie F. Walters, 82, of 785 Unity Church Road, formerly of Toccoa, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998. The Rev. Walters was a son of the late Alexander and Katie Belsha Walters and was the widower of Zelma Carter Walters. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Tugalo Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Blackwell officiating.
