A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Aycock was a son of the late Walter Bens and Mattie Selene Truitt Aycock. He was preceded in death by a son, Jabe C. Aycock Jr. He attended Beech Haven Baptist Church, was retired from Independent Life Insurance Co. and was an Air Force veteran. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Revs. Alton Wilson and James Massey officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Pauline Brackett Blairsville Pauline Brackett, 93, formerly of Athens and Atlanta, died Thursday, May 14, 1998. A native of Blairsville, Miss Brackett was a daughter of the late Morgan F. and Emma L. Dellinger Brackett. She was a 1926 graduate of the State Normal School and employed by Scott Foresman & Co. until 1971. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Atlanta, where she was superintendent of the Sunday school department for more than 25 years. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Bonnie Peters officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Herman Brady Rayle Herman Eugene Brady, 58, of 887 Centerville Road died Thursday, May 14, 1998. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Brady was a son of Mary Lou Colbert Brady of Rayle and the late George Alvin Brady. He was self employed as a mechanic and of the Baptist faith. A native of Hart County, Mr. Bryant was a son of the late John Elvie and Mary Della Siegler Bryant. He was preceded in death by two sons, Darell Bryant and Arnold Dean Bryant. An Army veteran of World War II, he was retired after 30 years from WABCO and was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member of the adult men's Sunday school class and director of discipleship training. V.S. Hughey Jefferson The Rev. V.S. "Vat" Hughey, 82, of 351 Gordon St. died Saturday, May 9, 1998. A native of Walton County, the Rev. Hughey was a son of the late Luther Malcome and Agnes Hughey. He pastored the Gillsville and Maysville Baptist churches, Fellowship Baptist Church, Social Circle, Broad River Baptist Church, Lavonia, and St. Paul First Baptist Church, Jefferson. He retired from St. Paul in 1994 after 38 years of service. He served in the Northwestern Baptist Association for more than 60 years and served as second vice moderator for 20 years. He was instrumental in the plans for the subdivision of the homeowners on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Jefferson, and was named Citizen of the Year by the Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Council in 1994. He served on the Jefferson Housing Authority Board and was retired from the University of Georgia as a maintenance supervisor. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Paul First Baptist Church with the Revs. Marvin Simmons, L.D. Sims, L.C. Teasley, J.B.
