A native of Hall County, Mr. Armour was a son of J.B. and Clara Mae Armour of Alto. He was employed by Purina Mills Inc., Gainesville, and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Soque Saddle Club. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Loyd Martin, Lloyd Free, and Paul Morris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Leona Murphy Armour; a daughter, Tracie Armour, Cornelia; and four brothers, Richard Armour, Cornelia, and Don Armour, Tony Armour, and Melvin Armour, all of Alto. Balchin Elberton Joseph Fleming "Buck" Balchin, 86, of 1628 Lincolnton Hwy. died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Balchin was a son of the late Joseph Johnson and Irene Fleming Balchin. He was a retired farmer and merchant, an army veteran of World War II, and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Revs. John Hickman and Chester Weatherford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Frances Hudson Balchin; three daughters, Jane Glidwell and Patty Balchin, both of Elberton, and Fran Hendley, Bloomfield, Mont.; a sister, Othello Cogburn, Edgefield, S.C.; and four grandsons. Betts, 92, of 65 East Paoli Road died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Betts was a daughter of the late William S. and Sally Hopkins Threlkeld and was married to the late Charles E. Betts. She retired from Brawner Hospital, Smyrna, after 50 years of service as a nurse, and was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Janet Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Louis H. A native of Hall County, Mr. Coker was a son of the late James Howard and Emmaline Bridges Coker. He was preceded in death by a son, James H. Coker and a grandson, Ronald D. Davis. He was a member of the Demorest Church of God and was formerly employed by New Holland Mills and by Chicopee Manufacturing Co. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whitfield Funeral Home. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of Grace Huff Moore of Winterville and the late Robert Lee Monroe Sr. She was a former bus driver with the Clarke County School District.
