A native of Franklin County, Mr. Bennett was a son of the late Arniker and Bessie Williams Bennett. He was retired from A.B.B. in Athens and of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Jimmy Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Bowers Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ann Edins Bennett; a daughter, Diane Lynn Smith, Hartwell; two sons, Ray Emerson Bennett and Stephen M. Bennett, both of Canon; two sisters, Sara Mace, California, and Alpha Thomas, Danielsville; a brother, Bill Bennett, California; and a granddaughter. The family is at the residence. Beatrice Cheek Canon Beatrice Cheek, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998. A native of Central, S.C., Mrs. Cheek was a daughter of the late William Frank and Ruth Phillips Kelley and was the widow of Raymond Shields Cheek. She was retired from Hartwell Mills and was a Pink Lady with the Ty Cobb Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church and attended Canon Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Rowe and Larry Davison officiating. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Rowe, Hartwell; a son, Dr. Mark Cheek, Thomson; two sisters, Frances Cheek, Canon, and Helen Elrod, Carnesville; two brother, Andrew Kelley and Tom Kelley, both of Carnesville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family is at the home of the Rev. Paul and Linda Rowe, 2088 Elberton Highway, Hartwell, Ga. 30643, and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Shawano County, Wis., Mrs. Klevesahl was a daughter of the late Hulda and Carl Moeller. Private services will be later. Survivors include her husband, Vilas Klevesahl; four daughters, Kathy Grunewald, Manhattan, Kan., Christine Zellmer, Neenah, Wis., Susan Jensen, Oshkosh, Wis., and Diane Lambie, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, John Klevesahl, Cartersville; twin sisters, Dorothy Holl, Pulaski, Wis., and Della Rusch, Black Creek, Wis.; three brothers, Alden Moeller and Norbert Moeller, both of Seymour, Wis., and Orlo Moeller, Pulaski, Wis.; and six grandchildren. Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements. Thomas McGahee Cornelia Thomas Jefferson McGahee, 89, of 203 Chenocetah Drive died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998. A native of McDuffie County, Mr. McGahee was a son of the late James Moses and Van Della Connell McGahee. He attended Mercer University and later graduated from the Cincinnati School of Embalming. After moving to Cornelia in 1936, he established McGahee Funeral Home and Furniture Store, retiring in 1981. He developed a perpetual care cemetery in Stephens County and Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest. He was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church and the men's Sunday School class, a charter member of Cornelia Chamber of Commerce, a member of Cornelia Lodge 92 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Georgia Funeral Directors Association, a Shriner and a past member of Cornelia Optimist Club. He served on the board of directors of First National Bank (now Regions) and with Habersham County Family and Children's Services and Cornelia Housing Directors and was chairman of Georgia Advisory Board of Directors of United Family Life Insurance Co. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Cornelia United Methodist Church with the Revs. Marcus Martin and Clyde Garrison and the Rev. Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Lena Barden McGahee; two sons, Jeff McGahee, Baldwin, and Jim McGahee, Cornelia; two grandsons and nieces and nephews. A native of Greene County, Mr. McWhorter was a son of the late Nancy Lee and Willie Robert McWhorter. He was employed at Balls and Stalker Furniture Co. until he became disabled. He was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, Woodville. Services will be at 2 p.m Saturday at Saint Paul Baptist Church with the Revs. A.W. William and William Smith officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Dorthy McWhorter; a daughter, Rita Jackson, Decatur; a son, Edward D. McWhorter, Decatur; a sister, Jessie Mae McWhorter, Woodville; three brothers, Willie Finch and Tony McWhorter, both of New York, and Joe Lewis Finch, New Orleans, La.; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. today at Watts Funeral Home, Union Point. Lee Rager Nicholson Lee Roy Rager, 58, of Abbey Lane died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998. A native of Schuylkill, Pa., Mr. Rager was a son of Emma Shutt Minish, Nicholson, and the late Lester Rager. He was self-employed. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Athens Memory Gardens with Steve Roberts officiating. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Sarah Johnson Rager; a daughter, Jennifer Rager, Nicholson; a son, Jason Rager, Athens; a stepsister, Linda Ingram, Nicholson; two stepbrothers, Jimmy Minish, Nicholson, and Parrish Minish, Danielsville; a grandchild and nieces and nephews. A native of Spalding County, Mrs. Ray was a daughter of the late Preston Young and Mae Adams Luther and was the widow of James Butler Ray Jr. She was a homemaker and retired owner and operator of Ray's Corner in Watkinsville. She was a member of St. James Methodist Church, participated in Circle Number 4 and was a member of Bobbin Mill Garden Club. She attended the University of Georgia, was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and served as the permanent alumna secretary until her retirement. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Reynolds officiating. Burial services will be at 4:30 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin and officiated by the Rev. Steve Midkiff. Survivors include three children: her daughters, Alice Ray-Overstreet of Lakeland, Fla., and Mary Frances Ray of Scottsdale, Ariz., and her son, James B. Vera Sudduth Elberton Vera Johnson Dye Sudduth, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Sudduth was a daughter of the late Obie and Fannie Blackmon Johnson. She was married twice, first to the late Herbert Dye, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Dye Jenkins. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Eddie Duncan and Philip Hart officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Leo Sudduth; two daughters, Eugenia Dye Willis, Elberton, and Elaine Dye Goss, Douglasville; three sons, Stephen C.
