A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Cartwright was a daughter of the late Henry and Ona Walker Farmer and was the widow of John James Cartwright. She was retired from Coats & Clark and a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, Rebecca Sunday school class and Happy Hearts Choir. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hill Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Sheryl Beach, Virginia Beach, Va., and Nancy Thomas and Debbie Fogle, both of Toccoa; two sisters, Lou Lathan and Johnnie Simmons, both of Toccoa; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Lewis Curry Jr. Lavonia Lewis Curry Jr., 69, of 67 Third St. died Monday, June 15, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Curry was a son of the late Eunice Cambell Curry and Lewis Curry Sr. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and retired from the poultry industry. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Berryman officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Franklin Cemetery. A native of Walton County, Mr. Glass was a son of the late Alma Evans and Haynie Milton Glass. He was a dairy farmer and carpenter and of the Protestant faith. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Monroe, with the Rev. Paul Glass officiating. Survivors include his wife, Ella Reece Griffeth Glass; two sons, Roger P. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Hardy was a son of the late Lula Pearl Hale and Bascom Homer Hardy Sr. He was a service station operator. A native of Newman Grove, Neb., Mrs. Hornby was a daughter of the late Ole G. and Mary Fodnes Texley. She attended the University of Nebraska, taught for a time in rural schools, was an executive secretary, and later retired from the Washington State Highway Dept. She was a member of the Episcopal Church (St. Mark's Cathedral Parish - Seattle) and a volunteer with the Emmanuel Thrift House in Athens. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Father Eddie Ard officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. McElroy Athens Alfred B. McElroy, 74, of 190 Janice Drive died Wednesday, June 17, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mr. McElroy was a son of the late Sidney and Pauline Strickland McElroy, and was preceded in death by a brother, S.T. McElroy. He was a self-employed contractor and had attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church. He also was a member of The Elks Lodge 790, Athens.
