A native of Franklin County, Mr. Canady was a son of the late George and Josephine Morgan Canady. He was a member of Ruhamah Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired employee of Coats n' Clark in Toccoa. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Hunter's Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Truitt Brawner and Roger Elrod officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Lavonia. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Williams Canady; a daughter, Eloise Goolsby, Gray Court, S.C.; a son, Marshall Canady, Toccoa; three sisters, Nellie Fulbright, Carnesville, Gather Wilson, Atlanta, and Reba Kackley, Texas; and six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Ginn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. George Dallas Duncan Athens George Dallas Duncan, 57, of 190 Will Hunter Road died Friday, July 17, 1998. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Duncan was a son of the late Columbus and Annie A. Knight Duncan. He was connected to the Chicopee Manufacturing Co. until their closing in 1979. He was connected with the University of Georgia Department of Avian Medicine for 18 years. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and sang with the Gospel DK's. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home with the Revs. Elmer Butler and Raybun Ginn officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, All Kittle Duncan; two sons, Milan Duncan and Marlon Duncan, both of Athens; three sisters, Geneva Austin, Bogart, Jurlee Fielding, Colbert, and Mildred Ginn, Athens; two brothers, C.A. Duncan, High Shoals, and Edward Duncan, Watkinsville; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Bennett, Vernon O'Kelly, Charles Goss, Odeen Brock, John McKinney and Charles McDarris. Honorary pallbearers will be the Department of Avian Medicine. The family is at the residence. Ruth DuPre Peachtree City Ruth Hale DuPre, 89, died June 15, 1998. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 1998, at First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Ruth was born and grew up in Athens, Ga., then was a resident of the Grant Park area of Atlanta, Ga., for 62 years, and resided in Peachtree City since 1991. She was the widow since 1968 of H.L. "Bill" DuPre, originally of Cobb County, Ga. She is survived by a son, T.L. "Lee" DuPre of Peachtree City, Ga.; two grandchildren, Chris DuPre of Richmond, Va., and Nicole DuPre of Peachtree City, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Her family celebrates her passing from many months of pain and suffering to being at perfect and eternal peace with The Lord. Sara Elizabeth Blalock Howard Athens Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Blalock Howard, 74, of 109 Armour Court, Athens, and of 1 Whitten Ave., Griffin, died Saturday, July 18, 1998 at her residence after an illness of several months. A native of Spalding County, Mrs. Howard was the second daughter of late Buel Cooper and Vera Ann Holloway Blalock of Griffin. She was preceded in death by a sister, Johnnie Mae Evans, and four brothers, Howard Blalock, Melvin Blalock, Buel Blalock, and James Blalock. She was retired from Dundee Mills in Griffin.
