Baldwin Jefferson Fred R. Baldwin, 69, of 54 Dickson Circle died Sunday, May 17, 1998. A native of Miami, Mr. Baldwin was a son of the late Roba Stanley and Frank Baldwin. He served in the Naval Air Force and the Army Air Force Reserves and was retired from Southern Bell. He chartered the North Georgia Vintage Thunderbird Club and enjoyed restoring vintage Thunderbirds from his shop "The Thunderbird Nest." He was a former member of the Jefferson Lions Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Plank, officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn McNeal Baldwin; two daughters, Kay Martin, Jefferson, and Lisa Duke, Augusta; a sister, Betsy Burwell, Gainesville, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ken Mitchell, Don McNeal, Roger Williams, Chuck Baird, J.B. Jones and Steve Longaker. George D. Collins Danielsville George D. Collins, 86, of 602 Collins-Dudley Road died Monday, May 18, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mr. Collins was a son of the late Charles T. and Savannah Beard Collins and was the widow of Ruth Teate Collins. He was preceded in death by a son, George Brown, a grandson, George "Danny" Collins, and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Eubanks. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Revs. Glenn Guest, Calvin Coile and Dayton Logan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full Masonic rites. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Bond and Sherry Crawford, both of Danielsville; five sons, Charles Collins, Kenai, Alaska, Kenneth Collins, Freemont, Calif., George T. Nelle Davis Toccoa Nelle Herring Davis of Henderson Falls Road died Sunday, May 17, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Henry and Jessie Parks Herring and was the widow of John "Johnny" Aaron Davis. She lived most of her life in Toccoa and Stephens County, and owned and operated Davis Cafeteria with her husband for 25 years. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, where she attended regular Sunday school and church services and was a member of member of Saints Alive. She was the telephone chairman in charge of calling the brotherhood and other meetings since the church was organized. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and served as past matron, belonged to the Woman's Club, and founded and organized the Toccoa Birthday Club and served as president for a number of years. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 1998, at Grace Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Wallace and Joel Bradberry officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a master's degree in Education, Phi Beta Kappa, and a retired elementary school teacher for the Hart County School System. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, John Benson Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Bowersville Baptist Church, Dorcus Sunday school class and a former pianist, organist and Sunday school teacher.
