Cooper Athens Mattie F. Cooper, 92, of 355 B Athens Ave. died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Cooper was a daughter of the late Ike and Leila Davenport. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Farmington, with the Rev. Jerry David officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Willie Mae Davenport, Athens; three sons, Lucious Davenport, Athens, Joe Davenport, Pensacola, Fla., and John W. Davenport, Atlanta; a sister, Lucille Moses, Athens; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren. Mack & Payne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sally Driftmier Hoover, Ala. Harriet Perkins "Sally" Driftmier, 62, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998. A native of Avondale Estates, Mrs. Driftmier was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a former school teacher and an elder of Southminster Presbyterian Church, where she was past moderator of the Presbyterian Women. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Southminster Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be in Southern Heritage Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Rudy H. Driftmier Jr.; two sons, John F. Driftmier, Leesburg, Va., and David K. Driftmier, Kansas City, Mo.; and four grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Grant Barricklow, Jerry Doyal, Bill Farrar, Charles Foster, John Newsome, Bill Porter, Jim Stapleton and Tommy Tillman. A native of Oakdale, La., Mrs. Dunn was a daughter of the late Richard and Betty Boyd Odom and widow of Charles Edward Dunn Jr. She was a homemaker. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jarrett Ragan officiating. Survivors include three sons, Charles Edward Lee Dunn III, Lewisville, Texas, Robert Thomas Dunn, Denver, Colo., and Kenneth Boyd Dunn, New York; and three grandchildren. Marilyn Gorman Athens Marilyn Powell Gorman, 52, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998. A native of Converse, Ind., Mrs. Gorman was a daughter of Glen and Mary Powell of Converse, Ind. She was a graduate of DePauw University and a retired senior project director of The Athens Community Council on Aging, a former executive director of Wilkes Respite Care in North Carolina and a supporter of arts throughout the South. Memorial services will be in late spring in Converse, Ind., and in Florida. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Tom Gorman; two sons, Michael Gorman and Christopher Gorman; and a brother, Dr. Steven Powell, Greenfield, Ind. Nancy Livingston Winder Nancy Ann Livingston, 61, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998. Mrs. Livingston was a spokeswoman and patient representative for Winder Dialysis Center and a former personnel manager for Thompson Industries. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hendrix officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Payne Cemetery, Fontana, N.C. Survivors include her husband, James R. A native of Banks County, Miss Turner was a daughter of the late William Jefferson and Mae Waters Turner. She was a retired teacher at Banks County Elementary School, a member and retired secretary and treasurer of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church of Lula, a retired member of Banks County Teachers Association and a member of the Banks County Home Demonstration Club. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hickory Flat UMC with the Revs. James Turner and Jamie Prickett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Marie Adeline Butler Wakefield, 74, of 125 Cox Ave. died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998. A native of Muskegon, Mich., Mrs. Wakefield was a daughter of the late Nathan Bradley and Ada Bell Marcum Butler and widow of Samuel Wakefield. She was owner and operator of the Triangle Drive-In Restaurant for more than 25 years and a member of Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church. She also was a poet. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calhoun Falls UMC with the Rev. Richard Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Wakefield Family Cemetery in McCormick County, S.C.
