Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home, Winder. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a sister, Brittaney Begley, Auburn; a brother, T.J. Ott, Auburn; and four grandparents, Bob and Joyce Begley, Jackson, Ky., and James and Irimina Graham, Auburn. The family will receive friends 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Merle Bowen Tifton Merle Bowen, 91, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998. A native of Cook County, Mrs. Bowen was a daughter of the late N.O. and Estelle Allen and was the widow of Robert Clark Bowen. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Roe officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Bowen Donaldson, Athens, Laura Ann Wright, Tifton, and Beth Barlow Mason, Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Robert Clark Bowen Jr., Gainesville; a brother, Bruce Allen Lenox; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. James Hopp Comer James Hopp, 74, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mr. Hopp was a son of the late Jesse and Nobie Hopp. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard B. Haynes officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include five daughters, Patricia Harris, Helen Roberson, Mary Jo Calloway, Shirley Hopp and Daffna Vaughn, all of Athens; two sons, Ronald Hopp, Anderson, S.C., and Wallace Hopp, Athens; a sister, Ethel M. Adams, Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Jeremy Martin Danielsville Jeremy Wade Martin, 19, of 573 Friendship Church Road died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1998. A native of Harris County, Texas, Mr. Martin was a son of the Rev. Jessie Andrew and Ann David Martin. He was a 1998 graduate of Madison County High School and was employed as a dietary aide at BJC Medical Center. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he was actively involved with the Beyond the Edge Ministry ADAPP. Milton McLain Athens Milton Darryl McLain of 1760 Old W. Broad St. died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mr. McLain was a son of Milton and Mamie McLain, Athens. He was a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He graduated from Vo-Tech with a degree in nursing and was a former employee of Grandview Nursing Home. He had served in the Air Force and was a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church West with the Rev. Roy L. Thomas officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. A native of Laurens County, Mrs. Warren was a daughter of the late James R. and Ellen Mackey Faircloth and was the widow of W.D. Warren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Grady Wigley officiating. Troutman Wilson, 85, of 258 Westview Drive died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998. Mr. Wilson was a native of Clarke County and was a son of the late Mr. Robert C. and Grace Troutman Wilson. He graduated from the University of Georgia and was connected with the Standard Oil Co. for a number of years. He was general manager of University Chevrolet, connected with Normal Hardware, and later executive vice president of Sun Trust Bank in Athens. He served in the Army in WWII and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a Colonel. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, served on the Administration Board, Board of Trustees, taught Sunday school, and served as president of Georgia Banking Association in 1973. He was a member of the Athens Country Club, president of the Touchdown Club, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Athens General Hospital Board and the Athens Library Board. He was preceded in death by his wives, Josephine Dunlap Wilson and Margarett Gunn Wilson. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Britt and Dr. Jon Appleton officiating. Burial was in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Survivors include four daughters, Beth W. Lowrey, Athens, Grace W. Phillips, Cochran, Robin Pierce Miller, Greensboro, and Jody W. Boling, Cumming; a son, Marcellus Troutman Wilson Jr., Augusta; a sister, Grace W. Waters, Athens; a brother, Bobby Wilson, Thomasville; 11 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
