A native of Madison County, Mrs. Burroughs was a daughter of the late G.A. and Effie Stephens Mann. She was a retired lunchroom manager, having served for 28 years at Danielsville Elementary School, and was a member of Danielsville Baptist Church. She retired as a clerk from Central Mutual Insurance Company after 20 years of service. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late James Henry and Julia Ann Rutherford Hamby and widow of Olin Judson Johnson Sr. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Johnson Webster. She served as president of American Laundry and Dry Cleaning, retiring with 50 years of service and was a member of the Hartwell Women's Club, a former member and past president of Hartwell CWI and a former member of the Hartwell Pilot Club. A native of Caldwell County, Texas, Dr. Kreuz was a son of the late Willie T.C. and Mamye Joe Henry Kreuz. Thirty-one years of dedication to the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine came to a close March 1, 1983, when Dr. Kreuz retired. He served the university in many capacities, but will probably be best remembered by his former students for his large animal surgery classes and oral exams. He served as chairman of the entrance committee for many years; actively participated in a pilot program which featured a new type of curriculum for training veterinary students; was the first faculty member to receive the student's annual award for "Outstanding Teacher," which was begun in 1956; served as secretary of Phi Zeta at the local level; was an active faculty member of AGON; and was an honorary member and faculty adviser of Alpha Psi. During the last two years before retirement, he served as National President of Phi Zeta. During his term of office, a new plan of representation for delegates was initiated at the National Meeting in Salt Lake City which resulted in the largest attendance in some time. Upon his retirement, the College of Veterinary Medicine nominated him for emeritus status approved by the Board of Regents. Before going to Georgia, Dr. Kreuz taught Anatomy for seven years at Texas A & M University and practiced veterinary medicine at La Grange, Texas, his home town, and in Monticello, Ark. The same year he retired from his profession, he also retired as church clerk at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church. In honor of his 16 years as clerk, the deacons and church board made him a life deacon at a special service in his honor. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Bolen officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bartlett City Cemetery, Bartlett, Texas.
