A native of Macon, Mr. Arrington was a son of the late William S. and Kathleen James Arrington. He was the former owner and operator of West End Package Store and was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church, the Moose Club, and the Elk's Club. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry St., Macon, with the Rev. Sam Waldron Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park, Macon. Survivors include a daughter, Donna A. Crump, Raleigh, N.C.; a son, David Leon Arrington, Macon; a stepdaughter, Joanne Schrantz, Grenville, Ala.; two brothers, William S. "Dick" Carnes Hartwell Columbus "Dick" Carnes, 80, of 285 S. Jackson St. died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mr. Carnes was a son of the late Lumus M. and Annie Burns Carnes. He was a retired spare-hand for Hartwell Mills and member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home with the Revs. Archie Sharpe and Joe Black officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. James Clifford Davis, 86, formerly of Elberton died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Henry and Genie Payton Davis. He was retired from Jackson EMC after 34 years of service, a member of Dry Pond United Methodist Church, and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ronald Shaw Comer Ronald Edward Shaw, 44, of 407 Piney Grove Road died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998. Mr. Shaw was a son of Willis and Mary Ann Anglin Shaw. He was employed by Matt Armstrong Shows in St. Charles, La., was of the Holiness faith, and attended Macedonia Holiness Church.
