Napoleon Allen Atlanta Napoleon Allen, 66, of 375 Auburn Ave. died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998. A native of Greene County, Mr. Allen was a son of the late John Allen Sr. and Georgia M. Smith Allen and was the widower of Mattie Lee Allen. He was a member of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church, Union Point. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Chaney was a son of the late Aaron and Neszie Chaney. He was self employed as a carpenter and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, is in charge of arrangements. 'Beefy' Eaves Elberton Charles Parker "Beefy" Eaves Sr., 75, of 2757 Rock Branch Road died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Eaves was a son of the late Frank King and Ocie Christian Eaves. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Eaves. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and captain of the Georgia Bulldogs football team in 1945. He was assistant director of the Athens "Y" Camp from 1943 to 1948 and was the Athens High School football coach from 1947 to 1949. He was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity and the Northeast Georgia chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. He was a retired superintendent of the City of Elberton Recreation Department, a Little League district director for 15 years and founder and camp director of Camp Harmony in Elbert County. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elberton First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ed Sayer and Dennis Clark officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. A native of Banks County, Mr. Fowler was a son of the late Henry and Mattie Evans Fowler. He was twice married, first to the late Addie Lucille Thurmond Fowler. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He was a farmer, a bus driver for Stephens County for 28 years and had worked for 20 years for Z.T. Babb delivering coal and fertilizer. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church with Elder Marvin Loudermilk and the Rev. Ralph Goss officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Sandra McAlister Gainesville Sandra Adams McAlister of 2445 Club Drive died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. A native of Chappells, S.C., Mrs. McAlister was a daughter of the late Haskell Leo and Frances Martin Padgett Adams. She was past president of the Medical Wives Auxiliary, a board member of the Guest House, captain of her tennis team, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Gateway House. She attended high school in Chappells, S.C., and was a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina Nursing School, Class of 1959. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Services were Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at First/UMC of Gainesville. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Willis was an educator in the public school system for many years and later became president and funeral director of Mack & Payne Funeral Home until retiring. She was a member of St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Dr. Winston was a son of the late Ambrose Penn and Jewel Kinnebrew Winston. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. During World War II, he served with the Public Health Service attached to the Coast Guard. Upon discharge from the service, he practiced medicine in Tifton before moving to Valdosta in 1953.
