A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Alford was a daughter of the late Hill and Ella Haygood Brooks and was the widow of Elder Alford. She was preceded in death by two children, Jesse David Alford and Louise Norton, and two grandchildren, Sandra Breedlove and Patricia Hudson. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Dix officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include seven children, Mary Lynch, Frances Hudson, Billy Alford, Vada Harden, Mae Alford and Daniel Alford, all of Griffin, and Clara McLean, Godfrey; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Evelyn Allgood Carlton Evelyn Turner Allgood, 91, formerly of Carlton, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Allgood was a daughter of the late George Mark and Leona Aminson Turner and was the widow of W.F. Allgood. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Carlton Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, with the Revs. Ray Black and Doug Ivey officiating. Burial will be in Carlton Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, William J. Allgood, Carlton, and Ed Allgood, Hull; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family is at 2300 Paoli Road. Vicki Belcher Indian Valley, Va. Vicki Phillips, 40, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998. Mrs. Belcher was a daughter of Evelyn Phillips of Christiansburg, Va., and the late Joe F. Phillips. She received her accounting degree from New River Community College and was employed with Avon as a district manager for 11 years before working at Randstad Staffing Services, Athens. She was a member of Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. June 19 at Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Calvin Harward and Kenneth Hopkins officiating. Burial was in Indian Creek Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Danny R. A native of Sumter County, Fla., Mrs. Cheatham was a daughter of the late George O. and Zora Crenshaw Watkins and was the widow of William E. Cheatham. She was preceded in death by a son, David G. Cheatham. She was a retired school teacher in the Hart County school system with 32 years of service. She was a graduate of Florida State University and past president and life member of Madora Garden Club, former moderator of the Northeast Georgia Presbyterian Women, member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Retired Teachers Association and the Ladies Golf Association of the Hartwell Golf Club. She was a member of Hartwell First Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and organist. She was former president and board member of Hart County Community Theater and was an avid bridge player of the Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Bridge Clubs. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hartwell First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Cornelison was a son of the late Hattie Porterfield Cornelison Waters and Clarence Cornelison. He served in the Air Force and was a former radio dispatcher for Hart County Sheriff's Department, a Shriner, and a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge 690 and Oak Bower Baptist Church. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Moorhead was a daughter of the late Reece and Mary Frye Temple. She was a retired ward secretary for Cobb Memorial Hospital and a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church and W.M.U. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Newman was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mary C. Cusick and was the widow of Jesse M. Newman. She moved to Sarasota, Fla., in 1947 and has been in Athens since 1987. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church.
