A native of Cherokee County, Mrs. Bridges was a daughter of the late John and Olivia West and was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Vaughn Jr. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Mike Phillips, Howard Banks, and Tim Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Doug Hulsey, Braselton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Lynn Vaughn, and Danny and Connie Vaughn, all of Hoschton; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. John M. Bruce Jr. Jasper John M. Bruce, 71, formerly of Toccoa, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998. A native of Williamston, S.C., Mr. Bruce was a son of the late John M. Bruce Sr. and Margaret Attaway Bruce. He retired from Western Electric with 30 years of service as a technical writing specialist, and was an Army-Air Force veteran of World War II having served as a medic. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary with the Revs. Roger Elrod and Clarence Davis officiating. Burial will be in Tugalo Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Myra Vickery Bruce; two daughters, Sharon B. Alexander, Jasper, and Lisa B. Tabb, Canton; three sisters, Kathryn B. Ellington, Burlington, N.C., Dorothy B. Byrd, Loganville, and Beth B. Holcomb, Jonesboro; a brother, David W. Bruce, Cookeville, Tenn.; and a granddaughter, Ashlee Alexander-Watts, Pawleys Island, S.C. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Anna M. Hunt Dewy Rose Anna Mae Milford Hunt, 94, of 6806 Elberton Hwy. died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Hunt was the daughter of the late Mitchell Toombs and Etta Matilda Crittendon Milford and widow of Charles Willis Hunt. She was a retired teacher with 33 years of service to Beaverdam, Centerville and Nancy Hart Elementary Schools, a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received her master's in education, a member of Bio Baptist Church and ladies Sunday school class, Hart County Retired Teachers Association, Nancy Hart Chapter of OES No. 398, and Happy Harts of Sardis Baptist Church, a former member of the Board of Directors for Hart County Welfare Dept., and a former home demonstration agent in Franklin County. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bio Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Vincent and Robert B. Ward officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Charlie Ann Gaines, Elberton; two sons, Joe Milford Hunt, Kittery Point, Mass., and Jon Henry Hunt, St. Augustine, Fla.; and four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. Kesler Toccoa Donald Albert Kesler, 58, of 6652 Pine Villa Drive died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Kesler was a son of the late Albert and Florene Mulkey Kesler and widower of Wanda Ann Beasley Kesler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, employed by The Atlanta Journal & Constitution as district manager, a Mason, and a member of First United Methodist Church and Amvets Post 22. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Partridge officiating. Burial will be in Toccoa City Cemetery. Survivors include three sons, Kurt Kesler, Auburn, Eric Kesler, Athens, and Marc Kesler, Hinesville; and a sister, Faye Kesler, Rome. Pallbearers will be Kurt Kesler, Eric Kesler, Marc Kesler, Don Spence, Earl Palmer, and Jerry Ertzberger. Memorials may be made to the Stephens County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Patricia McCollum Canon Patricia McCollum, 42, of 125 New Canon St. died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. McCollum was a daughter of the late Oscar A. Maxwell Sr. and Ester McKinney Maxwell. She was employed by Ross Control, Lavonia, and a member of Double Branches Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Larry McCollum; a daughter, Christy McCollum, Canon; a son, David McCollum; four sisters, Jeanett Dutton and Annie Bundrick, both of Elberton, Shirley Maxwell, and Brenda Lyle, Huntsville, Ala.; and three brothers, Oscar Maxwell Jr., San Antonio, Texas, Lamar Maxwell, Elberton, and Danny Maxwell, Nicholson.
