A native of Taliaferro County, Mrs. Barnes was a daughter of the late William and Mary Ware and was the widow of Robert Barnes. She was a homemaker and a member of Greater Level Hill Baptist Church, Crawfordville. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Greater Level Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. R.J. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Church Cemetery. Survivors include a son, James W. Barnes, Washington; and five grandchildren. Davenport-McLendon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Joseph Brooks Jr. Jefferson Joseph Brooks Jr., 71, of Theydon Drive died Tuesday, April 28, 1998. A native of Ocala, Fla., Mr. Brooks was a son of the late Vercie Whaley and Joseph Stanley Brooks Sr. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired accountant and a member of Galilee Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Galilee Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Plank officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Barbara S. Brooks; two daughters, Sharon Sikes and Joanne Schnelle, both of Jefferson; a sister, Mildred Jennings, Jefferson; and six grandchildren. Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mary Hart Colbert Mary Russell Hart, 87, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Hart was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie McEntire and was the widow of Edwin Rice Hart Sr. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville with a B.S. degree in economics. She taught high school in Madison County for more than 32 years, was a member of Carnesville Presbyterian Church and attended Colbert Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Colbert Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include two sons, Charles H. Hart and Edwin R. Hart Jr., both of Colbert; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three nieces. Pallbearers will be John Terrell, Joe Gill, Jack Patterson, Roger James, David Scoggins and Bill Madden. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home, Athens. Flornett Loudermilk Baldwin Flornett Pless Loudermilk, 80, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998. A native of High Point, N.C., Mrs. Loudermilk was a daughter of the late Alvin and Clara Smith Pless and was the widow of Ben Landers Loudermilk. She was a homemaker and a member of Currahee Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Luther Williams and David Ledford officiating. Burial will be in the Loudermilk Family Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell officiating. Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Riggins, Baldwin, Annie Sellers and Shirley Sanders, both of Mount Airy, and Linda Hren, Alpharetta; three sons, Marvin Loudermilk, Louis Loudermilk and Fermon Loudermilk, all of Mount Airy; five sisters, Eva Murray, Louise Scott and Nellie Mae Dean, all of Toccoa, and Gladys Addis and Elsie Mae Addis, both of Tiger; four brothers, James Pless, Elpson Pless, Frank Pless and Robert Pless, all of Toccoa; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Sharon S. VanDeWalle Toccoa Sharon Simizon VanDeWalle, 38, of 120B Colonial Drive died Monday, April 27, 1998. A native of Newark, N.Y., Ms. VanDeWalle was a daughter of John and Karen Hildebrandt Simizon of Newark, N.Y. She was an office manager at Seminole Civial Construction. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Fields officiating. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include two sons, Jason VanDeWalle and Bryan VanDeWalle, both of Toccoa; a sister, Suzan Streed, Lafayette, Colo.; two brothers, Jeff Simizon, Atlanta, and Michael Simizon, North Syracuse, N.Y.; and three grandparents, Emil and Minnie Hildebrandt, and Altea Simizon, all of Newark, N.Y. Mitchell of Athens and the late Herbert Mitchell Sr. and was the widow of Andrew Mills. She was a homemaker and a member of Oconee Baptist Church, Maxeys. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Oconee Baptist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Juanita Ellis, College Park; a son, Enoch Graves, Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Ada Moses, Lexington, Frances Mitchell, Athens, and Emily Dalton, Atlanta; four brothers, Herbert Mitchell Jr., Sheppard Mitchell, Ed L.
