Bonds Crawford Joseph Jerome Bonds, 36, of 846 Smokey Road died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Bonds was a son of Henry Arnold and the late Mattie Nowell Bonds. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Charles E. Dickey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his father, include six sisters, Dorothy Baughns, Jerrie Bonds, and Marsha Smith, all of Crawford, Michelle Bonds and Teresa Stalks, both of Athens, and Shirley Rivers, Albany; seven brothers, Bill Bonds, James Bonds, and Melvin Bonds, all of Athens. Cook Auburn Troy H. Cook, 79, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998. A native of Alpharetta, Mr. Cook was a son of the late Virgil and Mary Cochran Cook and was the widower of India McDougle Cook. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a step-daughter, Dorothy Gavitt, Covington; three step-sons, Tony Staton and Frankie Staton, both of Monroe, and J.E. Staton, Gratis; and a brother, Harry Cook, Marietta. The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. John F. Hawks Salisbury, Md. John Felton Hawks, 71, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mr. Hawks was a son of the late Willis and Beulah Hawks. He was a United States Navy veteran. Services will be Wednesday at Black Springs Baptist Church, Commerce, with the Rev. J.M. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Gaynell Wells, Gainesville, and Mary Bonds, Commerce; a brother, the Rev. A.D. Hawks, Gainesville; aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews. Mason Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements. Belle Hill Stone Mountain Hill Belle Hill, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998. A native of Camden, N.J., Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and an active member of Highlands Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bowler for many years and was a very gentle, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Snellville Chapel of Tom M. Wages Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Cain officiating. Interment will be in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Melvin B. Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Gordon Diachenko, Arlington, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Melvin B. and LaVerne Hill Jr., Athens; a sister, Roberta Clearly Leeser, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Willie Lee Toccoa Willie Lee, 80, of 8736 Highview Road died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998. A native of Oconee County, S.C., he was a son of the late Dandy and Flossie Lyles Lee. He was a former employee of Tugalo Gas and retired from Toccoa Service Gas. He was a member of Madison Church of God. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Whitlock Mortuary with the Revs. Ralph Goss, William Courtney, and Robert Magness officiating. Burial will be in Roselane Cemetery. Martin Alto Alton Gene Martin, 63, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Martin was a son of the late Henry Grady and Dora Bessie Wade Martin. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church and was a member and past master of Mount Airy Lodge No. 14 F&AM. He was a member of Grand Chapter of Georgia RAM No. 67, Philemon Commandery No. 33, the E.L. McConnell Council No. 40, the Yaarab Shrine Temple, and the Mountaineer Shrine Club. He was the past high priest of the Royal Arch Chapter No. 67. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McGahee-Griffin Funeral Home with the Revs. Aubrey McIntyre and Woodrow Hix officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with masonic graveside services by Mount Airy Lodge No. 141 F&AM. Survivors include his wife, Mary Webb Martin; three daughters, Teresa Forrester, Gillsville, Carolyn Seabolt, Dahlonega, and Peggy Thomas, Cleveland; a brother, Omer Martin, Alto; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Moss Royston Catherine Hill Moss, 64, of 389 Grove St. died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998. A native of Spartanburg County, S.C., Mrs. Moss was a daughter of the late Benjamin Rufus Jennings and Ethel Ivestor Jennings. She was married three times, first to the late Thomas P. Hill, second to the late Alton Stephens, and finally to the late Perry Moss. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Edward Hill. She was a homemaker and was a member of East Athens Baptist Church. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reed Creek Baptist Church, Hartwell, with the Revs. Gary McCurley and Larry Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery, Canon. He was a member of Second Avenue Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class. He was a United States Army Air Corp. veteran of World War II and was a member of the Cornelia Lodge No. 92 F&AM. He was a retired Senior Internal Auditor with the Georgia Power Co. where he worked for 38 years. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Daniel's Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Ross officiating. Local services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Toccoa, with the Rev. Ken Ross officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
