A native of Franklin County, Mr. Allen was a son of the late Tom Noah and Viola Johnson Allen. He was a retired farmer and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home East, Athens, with the Rev. J.L. Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rice Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Anna English Greensboro Anna Jackson English of 102 Richland Ave. died Monday, July 27, 1998. A native of Greensboro, Mrs. English was a daughter of the late Luther and Susan Jackson and was the widow of Joseph English. She was a housewife and a member of Boswell Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Boswell Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Quinn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Curtis Harper Commerce Curtis Eugene Harper, 50, of 224 Bennett St. died Sunday, July 26, 1998. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Harper was a son of Cepeus and Flossie Harper, Commerce. He was a member of Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church and attended Warren Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Warren Chapel UMC with the Rev. Alma Ivester Toccoa Alma Lee Ivester, 80, of Antioch Church Community died Wednesday, July 29, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Miss Ivester was a daughter of the late P.B. and Blanch Jameson Ivester. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a charter member of WMU and a Sunday School teacher. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Mize, David Harbin and Kenneth Moon officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the church cemetery. Janie Johnson Elberton Janie Davis Johnson, 83, of 304 College Ave. died Tuesday, July 28, 1998. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late James R. and Janie E. Gunter Davis and was the widow of Ralph Thomas Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Elberton Church of God. The family is at the residence. Arlene Koedel Pittsburgh Arlene Sue Koedel, 52, formerly of Athens died Feb. 17, 1998. Mrs. Koedel was a daughter of the late F. Courtney and Gladys Donoghue. She will be remembered for her work at Athens Regional Medical Center Development Council and the NCAA men's tennis tournaments. Most recently she was involved with the Pennsylvania Special Olympics. Graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Jon Appleton officiating. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert E. Koedel; a son, Scott S. He was retired from Banks County Schools. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater Oct. 20, 1942-Sept. 23, 1945.
