Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spring Hill AME Zion Church, Monroe, with the Rev. Dr. M.C. Broughton Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Griffin and Vickie Dailey, both of Lawrenceville, Carolyn McElroy and Maria Damon, both of Winder, and Shirley Ansley, Atlanta; two godchildren, Eddie Billings and Barbara Billings, both of Winder; a sister, Eloise Edwards, Loganville; a brother, Bert Ansley, Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friends, Addie Billings and Claudie Ansley, both of Winder. The family will receive friends at Eberhart & Son Mortuary, Winder, from 5-8 p.m. today. Cecil Bagwell Winder Cecil E. Bagwell, 87, died Saturday, March 28, 1998. Mr. Bagwell was a son of the late George and Lucindi Bowles Bagwell. He was a retired manager with L.B. Price Company and a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Bagwell and the Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Annie Ola Roberts Bagwell; a daughter, Ruth Ensley, Winder; a son, Dr. Gerald Bagwell, Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Geneva Gant and Betty Griffin, both of Atlanta; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Carter-Stewart Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements. James Bruce Homer James "Jam-Up" Bruce, 70, of 269 Garrison St. died Saturday, March 28, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mr. Bruce was a son of George Wesley and Emma Lou Bruce. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, and was retired from O.S. Garrison and Sons Lumber Company. Mr. Bruce was a member of the Homer City Council, the Homer Fire Department, and Homer American Legion Post 245. He was of the Baptist faith. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Banks Memorial Garden with the Revs. Tommy Seay and Ted Kelley officiating. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Gary Bruce; a son, Terry Bruce, Lavonia; a sister, Trilla Mae Bruce, Homer; a brother, Edgar Bruce, Commerce; and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Egleston Children's Hospital or to the American Heart Fund. The family is at the residence. A native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County, "Gene", as he was known, was the son of John Allan and Elizabeth Richardson Callaway. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Georgia Poultry Federation, the National Turkey Federation, the Georgia Angus Association, the Georgia Farm Bureau, and was a pioneer and active member of the Callaway Family Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a farmer and president of Callaway Farms Inc. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Avola Whitesell Callaway; two sons, Eugene Mattox Callaway Jr. and Blake Whitesell Callaway, both of Rayle; two daughters-in-law, Myra Dowling Callaway and Kari Hudson Callaway; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Dowling Callaway and Blake Whitesell Callaway Jr., both of Rayle; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Adolphus Sanford Callaway, Washington. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Turner Cemetery in Centerville (near Rayle) with the Revs. Ryan Seawright, Elvyn McDonald and Grady Mosely officiating. A native of Green County, Mrs. Epps was a daughter of the late George E. and Nannie Morgan Sullivan. She was a homemaker and a member of Edwards Chapel Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Jack Seagers officiating. Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. Epps; a daughter, Linda Morgan, Colbert; two sons, Dwain Epps, Atlanta, and Dickie Epps, Greensboro; a sister, Jean Gardner, Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Guy R. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Kesler was a son of the late Samuel D. and Emma Payne Kesler. He lived the greater part of his life in Elberton and Pomona Park, Fla. He was twice married, first to Frances Fricks Kesler, who passed away in 1969. Mr. Kesler was retired from the trucking industry. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 5456 in Elberton. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, with Warren T. Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
