Don Channell Greensboro E. Don Channell, 85, of 1311 Siloam Road died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998. A native of Greene County, Mr. Channell was a son of the late Charlie Alexander and Lula Viola Marchman Channell. He was an electrician and plumber employed by the Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital for 30 years, a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, Greensboro, and a member of AARP, Hamp's Sunday School Class, Loins Club, and the Golden Tones. He attended Veazey School. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Siloam Cemetery, Siloam, with the Revs. David Sandridge and Gary Nicholas officiating. Survivors include his wife, Maedelle Bramlette Channell; two daughters, Linda C. Duvall, Greensboro, and Nancy C. Duncan, Madison; a son, Frank Don Channell, Greensboro; a sister, Allene C. Moon, Veazey; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dean Stewart, Carol Sisson, Mel Marchman, Jack Perkins, Duck Channell, and Richard Moon. Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Silvey, Dene Channell, Arthur Ott, and Arthur Stewart. The family is at the residence. McCommons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Doris W. Irvin Washington Doris W. Irvin, 51, of 703 West Lexington Ave. died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. A native of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Irvin was a daughter of Roberta Bell. She was a florist and a member of the Faith Christian Center. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. John Alberty officiating. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Willie T. Irvin; three sisters, Mary Alice Gartrell, Rubynell Bell, and Lisa Bell, all of Washington; and two brothers, George Bell Jr., Washington, and Troy D. Bell, Indianapolis, Ind. McLendon Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ludger W. Lanthier Winder Ludger W. Lanthier Sr., 84, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Lanthier was a son of the late Lewis J. and Dora Seagraves Lanthier and was married to the late Hazel Church Lanthier. He was owner and active in Lanthier Machine Works, and member of the Winder Fire Dept. 1936-1976, fire chief 1948-1976, and member of Winder Masonic Lodge No. 33 for over 50 years. Services will be 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Rary officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Mount, Winder; three sons, Ludger Lanthier Jr., Mitch Lanthier, and Greg Lanthier, all of Winder; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Colleen Coe McCrea Cornelia Colleen Coe McCrea, 101, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. A native of Evans County, Mrs. McCrea was a daughter of the late Adelbert Brown and Cora Shadrach Coe and was married to the late Woodbury Warnell "Woody" McCrea. She was a homemaker and member of AARP and the Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church. Services were Sunday at Grace-Calvary Cemetery. The Rev. Dick Bartholomew officiated. Survivors include a daughter, Colleen M. Parr, Cornelia; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornelia Boy Scout Troop No. 24, P.O. Mable Hilton Noblet Decatur Mable Hilton Noblet, 68, of 4508 Thompson Mill Road died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998. A native of Towns County, Mrs. Noblet was a daughter of the late Andrew Cleve and Era Bell Cloer Hilton and was first married to the late Willard D. Brock. She was a member of Rock Springs Memorial Baptist Church and the Tara Shrine Club of Yaarab Temple. She was a retired dietitian employed by Dekalb School Systems. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa, with the Revs. Chet Barrett and Eugene Power officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Alvin J. Noblet; two sons, Ronald D. Brock, Decatur, and Dennis W. Brock, McDonough; four sisters, Betty Marlow, Decatur, Margie Means and Dorothy Irvin, both of Mount Airy, and Peggy Ensley, Knoxville, Tenn.; and three brothers, Steve Hilton and Robert Hilton, both of Clarkesville, and Jack Hilton, Mount Airy. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Gladys L. Jackson Springfield, Mass Gladys Luise Jackson of Springfield, Mass., sister of Alice Hunter, Athens, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998.
