Mrs. Martin was a daughter of Florence Thomas Barnett and was the widow of Essau E. Martin. She was retired from the Social Security Administration and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the Burney-Harris Class of 1965. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mack & Payne Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Bloodsaw officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include four daughters, Edith Teresa Martin, Torea Jones and Rachel Martin, all of Athens, and Elaina Martin, Hull; two sons, Rick Lance Martin and Tommy Martin, both of Athens; six sisters, Florence Resby, Riverdale, Mary Schupeta, Atlanta, Jeanette Watson, Watkinsville, Paulette Johnson, Vickie Thomas and Elizabeth Jones, all of Athens; three brothers, Adullah ''Tommy'' Muhammad, Lawrenceville, Ruben Thomas and Jerry Jones, both of Athens; and 11 grandchildren. A lifelong resident of Stephens County, Mrs. Singleton was a daughter of the late William Jackson and Rosa Rothell Kesler and was the widow of Vivian Freeman Singleton. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was retired from Coats and Clark after 40 years of service.
