A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Beard was a daughter of the late George and Nellie Skinner Dunagan, and was the widow of Eddie Frank Beard. She served in the Army's W.A.C. during W.W. II, was a member of the Air Force Sargents Club, and a member of V.F.W. 2072. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Bud McDonald and Paul Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Marie Bowman, Lawrenceville, and Kathleen Lester, Athens; four sisters-in-law, Frances Dunagan, San Antonio, Texas, Rachel Dunagan, Winder, Jean Dunagan, Lithonia, and Mildred Bearden, Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Jasmine Gisselle Bravo Cornelia Jasmine Gisselle Bravo, infant daughter of Rogelio and Regina Mulchi Bravo, died Thursday, July 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Amy's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Gragg officiating. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her grandparents, Carl and Linda Mulchi of Mount Airy, and Soledad and Teresa Bravo of Mexico; and a great-grandmother, Annie Mulchi, Lincolnton, N.C. Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, is in charge of the arrangements. Sarah Cole Elberton Sarah E. Starrett Cole, 81, formerly of Elberton, died Friday, July 30, 1999. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Cole was a daughter of the late Obie Estes Starrett and Minnie Carroll Starrett. She was a member of the Elberton Christian Church, and was a homemaker. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, with the Revs. Bill Eaton and Billy Pittman officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens of Prayer in Hartwell. Larry Garland Bryan, Texas Larry Garland, 75, formerly of Toccoa, died Friday, July 30, 1999. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Garland was a son of the late Grady Sr. and Grace Garland. He attended Clemson College and North Carolina State University, and retired after 30 years with Penwalt Chemical Co. as a field sales manager. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed all outdoor activities, including fishing, deer hunting, and sports. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Bryan, Bryan, Texas, with the Rev. Mark Skoriem officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mary Mattox Garland; a daughter, Vickie Lynn Ogle, Bryan, Texas; two grandchildren, Heather Ogle and Seth Ogle, both of Bryan, Texas; nieces and nephews, including Joe Sewell, Toccoa. A native and one of the oldest residents of Walton County, Mrs. Godwin was a daughter of the late John Hurst Adams and Mary Elena Whatley Adams, and was the widow of Hubert Olie Godwin. She was a charter member of the John Clarke Chapter of the N.S. Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the James M. Gresham Chapter and a Lifetime Honorary President of the state division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a member of the National Society Magna Charta Dames. She was a member of the Colonial Order of the Crown, and a lifetime member of Colonial Dames. She was active in the PTA, Garden Club, and the Women's Missionary Society of the Social Circle First Baptist Church. She served as an election poll watcher and was nominated for Georgia Mother of the Year. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Social Circle First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Social Circle City Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Rachel Bateman, Albany; four children, Dr. John T. Godwin, Atlanta, Hubert A. Godwin, Augusta, Mary G. Kidd, Social Circle, and Dr. Braxton O. Godwin, Ormond Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
