He was a retired farmer and member of Nicholson Fire Baptized Holiness Church. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Cook was a daughter of the late William Henry and Leila Hitt Camp and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Patterson. Guin Washington Charles A. Guin, 72, of 247 Hendry Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Guin was a U.S. Navy-Air Force veteran of World War II, worked for Pet Milk Co. for over 20 years, and was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church and the National Rifleman's Association. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Payton was a son of the late Iley and Hattie Lee Payton and was widower of Edna Sanders Payton. He was a member of Liberty Congregational Church, a retired polisher at Apex Granite Co., and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Berry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Lyle J. Tincher Hartwell Retired Navy Capt. Lyle Joseph Tincher, 84, of 2137 Ridge Road, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999. A native of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mr. Tincher was a son of the late George Hiram and Ethel Badger Tincher and was widower of Mary F. Henderson Tincher. He was a graduate of Parsons College, attended Harvard University, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Mediterranean theaters, served 20 years in the Navy, retired from the Civil Service after 20 years in Naval Communications, was a former member of Hartwell Rotary Club, was a member of Hartwell Golf Club, and was of the Methodist faith. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., with full military honors. Survivors include: a daughter, Patricia Windham, Hartwell; two sons, Ronald J. Tincher, North Miami, Fla., and George Willis Tincher, Round Hill, Va.; a sister, Lois Dorsey, Hendersonville, N.C.; a brother, Maurice G.
