Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Murphy officiating. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include grandparents, Jimmy and Debbie Moon, Watkinsville, and Junior and Peggy Anderson, Bogart; great-grandparents, Delores and Charles Echols, Ruby Fielding, and Irene McDaniel, all of Watkinsville; and great-great-grandmother, Frances Montgomery, Watkinsville. Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Hodgers `Mick' Curry Hartwell Hodgers "Mick" Curry, 57, of 125 Hardy St., died Tuesday, June 29, 1999. A native of Hart County, Mr. Curry was a son of the late Fred E. and Susie Martin Curry. He was a member of St. James C.M.E. Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. James C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. Hubert Langston officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Bessie Newton, Hartwell, and Alma Sadler, Anderson, S.C.; and two brothers, Fred Curry Jr., Forest Park, and Rodgers Curry, New York, N.Y. George DeLamater Martin George DeLamater, 57, of 5 Hilltop Road, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999. A native of Fulton County, Mr. DeLamater was a son of the late George C. DeLamater Sr. and Margaret York DeLamater. He was president of Duluth Steel Buildings and was a former member of Grace Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Maureen Henze DeLamater; a daughter, Jill D. Mosley, Snellville; a son, Paul DeLamater, Martin; a sister, Peggy Eades, Doraville; and three grandchildren. ForestGlen Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Curtis Lee Hooper Nicholson Curtis Lee Hooper, 68, of 1681 Old Kings Bridge Road, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999. A native of Cleveland, Mr. Hooper was a son of the late Fred and Cora Edge Hooper. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hooper. He was a janitor for Commerce City School. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Full Gospel Holiness Church, with the Revs. Toby Dyer and Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Jeff and Mattie Powers and was the widow of Fletcher "Johnny" Johnson. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gholston Baptist Church, Comer, with the Rev. William Jennings officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will in Colbert Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Colbert. Survivors include a daughter, Carrie Mae Dowdy, Hull; two sisters, Jessie Griffith, Chicago, Ill., and Thelma McCurry, Athens; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Shirley Ann Slayton Watkinsville Shirley Ann Slayton, 59, of 196 VFW Drive, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999. A native of Georgia and a resident of Oconee County for the past 22 years, Mrs. Slayton was a daughter of the late Maybell Geeter. She was a graduate of Athens Regional Nursing School and retired as a registered nurse in 1990. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Watkinsville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Darrell Gilmer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Roy D. Slayton; two daughters, Angela Brittian, Watkinsville, and Cassandra Brooks, Athens; a stepson, Timothy Geeter, Athens; a brother, Andrew Geeter, Athens; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of Church of the Way, Monroe.
