Graveside services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, Carnesville. Marvin Butler Watkinsville Marvin Butler, 77, of 49 Lawanna Drive, died Friday, April 2, 1999. A native of Greene County, Mr. Butler was a son of the late Will and Alva Bradshaw Butler and was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Lamar Butler. He was a U.S. Army veteran and former POW during World War II. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and VFW Post 2872. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Rev. Darrell Gilmer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Carter was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Aderholt Voyles and was the widow of Reece Carter. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Thomas Carter. A native of Stephens County, Miss DeFoor was a daughter of the late Elijah and Harriett Pressley DeFoor. She was the last member of her immediate family, was a retired practical nurse and was a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Eastanollee Baptist Church, with the Revs. Richard Ivester and Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include four sisters-in-law, Jewell DeFoor, Belver DeFoor, Mary Fowler and Mary Ann DeFoor; nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Lamont Henry Atlanta Dr. Jennings Lamont Henry, 90, of Lenbrook Square, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999. A native of Russellville, Ark., Mr. Henry was a son of Jennings Munroe and Anna Jenks Henry and was the widower of Mary Lackey Henry. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Diane Henry Cooper and Cecelia Henry Tupay. He was a 1933 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. After completing an internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University, he entered private practice in Atlanta. He served in the armed forces from 1941 to 1946, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel and served as chief of medical services, Station Hospital, Camp Hood, Texas. He was actively involved in the Georgia Heart Association, serving as president in 1956. He was a professor of medicine at Emory University Medical School from 1948 until his retirement in 1972. He served Georgia Tech as their team physician for 22 years and was a member of the Ansley Golf Club and Saint Phillips Cathedral. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Saint Phillip. Survivors include a daughter, Suzanna Askew Roberts, Athens; two sons, Anthony Bartholomew Askew and Hulett Hall Askew, both of Atlanta; and 13 grandchildren.
