Herring Hull Boyce G. Herring, 74, of 829 Old Ila Road, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999. Mrs. Herring was a daughter of the late John and Janie Jordan Glenn and was the widow of Ben Herring. She was a sewing machine operator at Blue Bell. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ila Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Evelyn Rams, Hull; a son, Johnny Leon Herring, Bishop; a niece raised in the home, Birdie Nix; two sisters, Gladys Sellers, Supply, N.C., and Lillian Dykes, Macon; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Tommie Osborne Hartwell Tommie Osborne, 84, of 239 Crawford's Ferry Road died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999. A native of Hart County, Mr. Osborne was a son of the late Turner R. and Paris Allen Osborne and was the stepson of the late Mae Williams Osborne. He was a retired farmer and was a former house builder and painter. He was a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church, the Golden Agers and the Leonard Fleming Sunday School Class. He was a former deacon. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reed Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Tom Osborne and Luther Kay officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Greenway Osborne; two sons, Jerry Thomas Osborne, Decatur, and Danny Earle Osborne, West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Mabel Mann, Riverdale, and Dean Bartlett, Hartwell; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Osborne, Bob Dyar, Keith Osborne, Harry Osborne, Richard Greenway and Jim Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Leonard Fleming Sunday School Class. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home. Eddie B. Gilliam Athens Eddie B. Gilliam, 50, of 363 Reese St. died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999.
