Born June 21, 1905 in Stephens County, she was a daughter of the late William Mace and Lettie Frances Andrews Purcell and widow of Ralph F. Isbell. Mrs. Isbell had lived all of her life in this area where she and her late husband had owned and operated a store on Highway 106 for some 35 years. She was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Alton Banks of Toccoa; two grandchildren, Wanda and Wayne Davis of Toccoa and Mike and Dianne Banks of Lilburn, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Leila Knight of Athens and Christy and Jonathan Banks of Lilburn, Ga.; one sister, Ruth Purcell Bagwell of Marietta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Ryan Seawright and Rev. Marcus Martin officiating. He was a brick mason and carpenter and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Dillard Sr. officiating. LEADSTORIES Story last updated at 8:09 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 1999 Dr. Robert David Hart Athens Dr. Robert ''Bob'' Hart, 53, of Athens, died Sunday, October 31, 1999. Bob was born in Michigan and spent most of his childhood in Ecuador. He earned his Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Florida and dedicated his career to research on sustainable farming systems both in the United States and overseas. Bob Hart had a distinguished professional career in international agricultural research. Hart served on the faculty of the University of Georgia, as the Program Director of the Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Collaborative Research Support Program. Prior to his move to Georgia in 1997, Bob was the Executive Director of INFORUM which supported global research partnerships among institutions developing sustainable land use systems. He gained prominence in the use of electronic conferencing in international agricultural information exchange. In the late 1980's, Hart served as the Director of the Rodale Research Center. Additionally Bob Hart worked for Winrock International in Arkansas and the West Indies, for Centro Agronomico Tropical de Investigacion y Ensenanza (CATIE) in Costa Rica and Honduras, and for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C. While a researcher at CATIE, Hart authored a book on agroecosystems that was published in Spanish. Robert Hart is survived by his wife, Joan Beck Hart, and his daughter, Sarah Joan Hart of Boston. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 1999 at The Day Chapel of the State Botanical Gardens.
