A native of Boone County, W.Va., Mr. Harper was a son of the late Grant and Mary Lena Miller Harper. He worked in the West Virginia coal mines for a number of years and later owned and operated a merchandise store in Twilight, W.Va., and worked in real estate for 40 years in Orlando. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Collison Funeral Home, Ocoee, Fla. with the Rev. Dr. Walter Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park, Fla. Survivors include three sons, Russ Harper, Toccoa, Travis Harper and Emmett Harper, both of Orlando; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Burgess was a daughter of the late Vaughn Buford Williford Sr. and was the widow of Homer Burgess. She was a graduate of Valdosta State College and earned her Masters in Education from the University of Georgia. She taught in Toccoa Elementary School for 40 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Tab Lawrence Sunday School Class. She taught Bible School after school hours to elementary children both at church and in her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Hawks officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Mary F.
